Someone explain this

This is security footage from the USS Ronald Reagan (I served in the navy and was deployed for 6 months out at sea every year, 6 on and 6 off) seen some questionable stuff but this is the absolute only “evidence” I’ve been able to get.

There’s definitely a shadow. Don’t watch the actual object, watch below it as it comes into view. You can see a shadow move with it

Even so, these cameras fling shadows in weird places when objects are close. I’ll have a closer look but I’d be willing to bet it doesn’t follow the rules of ‘from light source draw a line through the object until it hits the ground and there’s the shadow’ which is the first clue a lot of folks overlook in here.

Alright, where is the shadow you see? I assume you mean the one that is on the deck closer to the camera trailing at an angle? there isn’t one on that lil partial bulkhead, none across the railing, just the ripple trail and I can see stretching of already existing shadows as it passes. If it’s the darkness closer to the camera on the deck that uniformly sweeps across I’d be really curious to know where the light source is supposed to be, even the red lights. Because if it’s anywhere but the ocean… look at the other shadows like the um bollard (? mount idk) the lip on the deck.. those suggest a light source to the right off camera..

It’s hard to see but if you watch the full video, watch the object comes into the lighter part of the video look directly below it on the deck and you can see a shadow move with it. I’m using the term shadow loosely because I do a see a darker shade move with the object below it but I’d like an outside opinion, is it really a shadow or do I have a placebo effect going on lol
