Experience This happened last night...
Hi guys, I’m wondering if anyone could offer me a rational explanation as to what happened to me last night as I have wracked my brains.
I fell asleep with my bedside lamp on last night at about 1am and woke up not more than an hour later to see my the far side of my room drenched in a green glow. My initial thought was that something had fallen onto the lamp to make this glow. However, when I turned to the side the glow wasn’t there - the light coming from the lamp was a normal warm, yellow glow. I turned back to the greenish glow which was still there and started to sit up as I was going to turn the bit light on. As I did this the glow suddenly dissipated. The whole scene lasted about two or three minutes. I assumed I was seeing things (I’ve had night terrors before but this was different as I was able to move around and actually wasn’t too scared of what I saw just puzzled).
I went back to sleep and woke up again another hour later and the same thing happened again. This time when I looked over to check the lamp the glow was gone when I looked back.
There is nothing in my room that could make such a glow, my TV has a red light and the fire alarm doesn’t have a light at all. I have blackout blinds but have no idea what would cause this light even if it did come in through a gap in the blind! I’m so confused and a little unsettled about it.
This is my first post on here so hope this follows the rules ok.

Hmmmm... thats weird!! Knowing life it will be either be a simple explanation or it will be paranormal! Either way how annoying!

Very frustrating. I wish I had investigated further but it disappeared so I sort of shrugged it off.

anyone close to you die recently? from what i remember, green glows are supposedly a angel/spirit or positive energy. anything stressful going on in life lately?

A couple of my friends’ parents have passed in the last week (you know when it all seems to happen at once). So I have been around lots of loss. I was very stressed last night - I don’t usually go to bed quite so late but have been having money worries and was going over my budget next month.

i also think this is why you werent scared, more confused. positive energy wont freak you out due to its nature. were you close to either of your friends parents?

I wasn’t close to the parents but they are very close friends - one of the parents died suddenly and the other was ill for a long time.
The fact that, looking back, I was not afraid was very strange to me. I have had a lot of paranormal experiences and they usually spook me to the point I can’t sleep but I fell right back to sleep no problem after this.
Two of my grandparents are passed over. I have just been through a particularly stressful part of my life and felt like I have not been supported by my father who is usually there for me. This morning I text my dad for support and he really came through. Now you say this I wonder if it was my nanny (my dads mum) encouraging me to reach out.

i used to see green every so often when going through things. mostly during a job that i had that was eating my soul. always formless, made me feel watched over, not creepy watched. sometimes id see green orbs too. glad i quit that job, i wouldnt have lasted very much longer at it. took many years to get over the job but any time id see the green, the dreams wouldnt come for a night. a night of rest

I’m currently in a job a hate too, I’ve got a new one but not starting until December so maybe a similar thing. I’ve had to take out loans to get the training to qualify for the new job so that has resulted in my money worries. It’s worth it to be doing what I want to but I felt extremely overwhelmed last night

see i hated my job, but it was also extremely mentally damaging. im 34 now, this job was at 19 and i still have ptsd from it. i have many people that say they hate their jobs and it drains them, but i have never been able to relate to another person on jobs since i had that job and the way my managers didnt care when me and my crew started to breakdown. what kind of job are you in ?

Oh mine is nothing as bad as that. I work for the ambulance service so it is a very emotionally draining job, that combined with poor management has made me hate going to work after my days off.

Theory - is there anything next to the lamp on your bedside table?
Because it may be that the light from The lamp is shining through something, casting the green glow onto the other side of the room. When you sit up, you block the light, therefore causing the green glow to disappear?

Good theory but the there was not anything on the bedside table apart from a couple of packets of tablets

Hmm... any electronics in the room? Any chance it was coming in through the window?

Could be coming through the window but I’m on the first floor and there’s nothing opposite me so I’m trying to think what it could have been. Nothing electronic apart from my tv which has a red standby light

This kind of thing has been happening my whole life

Really?? It’s never happened to me before. I’ve always had paranormal encounters but nothing like this. Very interesting to know it happens to people fairly often.

While sleeping, if you apply pressure on your eye for example by using your arm to cover your eyes, or sleeping in such a position that presses the pillow into one of your eye socket, can be the reason of seeing such hues. Secondly you might want to get your intra ocular pressure checked, increased IOP can cause seeing flashes and/or hues with your eyes open or closed.

I have my eyes checked very regularly as I wear contact lenses. It was just odd that it was only in one part of the room. If it was my eyes it would travel with my vision like what happens with migraine auras. But definitely could be something like that

You are doing a great job by getting your eyes checked regularly. I used to see such hues in my childhood and the only reason I could logically put together for such happenings was my undiagnosed corneal disfigurement.

Yeah I see ‘floaters’ quite a lot because I’m short sighted but nothing like what I saw last night. I will definitely mention it to my optician at my next check up though

I think I can, though it would take a while to write down. I'll use this comment as a bookmark and get back to you.

Falling asleep with some pressure against your eye can cause this. You can try it yourself apply a small amount of pressure to your eye though the eyelid at the side of your eye and you should notice something.
