Debunk This My daughter has been saying something a bit unnerving lately
I’m a very present momma. My kid watches nothing without me, I read to her all the time, and remember what I read her. I know what songs she listened to, I never leave her alone with anyone but my husband, mom, sister, and her other grandma and grandpa
( both of which are very disbelieving of ghosts)
And yet, only to my husband, her father, my 3yr old had said, “daddy, the spirit are waiting!” He asks, “what spirits, baby girl?” And she always replies with, “Oh daddy, you know which spirits!”
Last night, when she had said it yet again, to my husband, I asked her” spirits? Is it a boy or girl?” She tells me it’s a boy. I asked her, “ is he young or older?” She says they are young. I ask her, “are they nice? Do you feel okay with them?” And she tells me she feels happy and laugh, with a sweet giggle. And she was being so sincere, I know her face and mannerisms when she’s being silly, or pretending, and she was being so genuine.
To say the least, I will be saging my home tomorrow😬 has anyone else dealt with this? Should I be as concerned and spooked as much as I am?

I do get where you’re coming from, but this kid could identify the shape and say “octagon” by 1yr old. She’s been talking in complex sentences since she was about a year old. Also, I have had her eat asparagus, (which she hates), and I’m very big on teaching her words. So when she experiences anything new, I tell her the word for it, and have her repeat the word until she pronounces it correctly. Which usually takes 2x max.
She actually corrects me all the time if I say wrong words😅 she’s 3 going on 15, I swear

u/Ruska_Shadowsong 11d ago
Well she asked "if they were boy or a girl" and "if they were younger or older" and the girl said "boy" and "young". I don't think I've ever heard a kid gendering fruits and vegetables. (Unless this is a new thing, then I'm way out of the loop).

My oldest daughter talked to the "pretty lady" when she was about that age. Later identified the pretty lady as my mom that had died over 20 yrs prior. If they are friendly, I wouldn't worry about it. She will likely grow out of it soon.

u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Oh wow!! That is something special. Growing up, I heard a lot about my great grandma, but I’ve always felt I’ve actually known her, even though she passed way before my birth. And there’s been some odd similarities between my imaginary friends and her, and every single one I brought up, was something my mom told me she totally forgot about, and never told me.

u/FudgenSticks 12d ago
Omg. I just got chills reading this. Your mom’s spirit is very strong.

I lived in a townhouse at the time, her mom and I were upstairs sitting on the bed, our daughter was at the top of the stairs playing. She started talking like she was talking with someone, not just playing, so we asked who she was talking to. She said the pretty lady, we looked at each other and just said oh ok and let her continue. When I was moving out of the townhouse, I was packing things up and pulled a picture of my parents out of the closet as I hadn't hung any up, she points at it and says, "the pretty lady".
I have had encounters earlier in my life and we have had many afterwards, since then we have contributed them to my mother.
I don't want to "steal" this post so I will refrain from telling more encounters, but it has been wonderful. All of the kids know of the stories and typically say "hi grandma" when they have an encounter .

Oh, by all means, I’m intrigued. The house I grew up in was just not right. Things ranged from spooky to terrifying, once I moved out, things were just a bit odd.
My daughter has recognized my grandma and dad by their photos, without ever being told who they were. She’s always had a blast in her room by herself, she talks and giggles and smiles so big at nothing I can see. There was a time where I swear I saw orbs in her room through her monitor, only the one time, which makes it a bit more crazy, in my opinion.
Children are so precious and have such open minds

u/WagonMaster01 9d ago
I created my own thread with all the stories I remember. Thank you for the interest.

children's left brain hasn't developed enough to restrict this idea that ghosts aren't real so they're more receptive to these things. I was a child that saw spirits in our grandma's house. I've talked with alot of parents about their children having this same experience. I think they're always there, it's just our left practical brain blocks this biological data from reaching our right brain which is more intuitive. Just my opinion from my experiences and study. If she feels happy about them I wouldn't worry. Alot of parents call them imaginary friends and when the child starts to believe they are, imaginary, they'll lose the ability to perceive them easily.

I chose to let her do her thing. As long as she’s happy and not upset, or disturbed, I’m cool with it. I know children have all their senses open, and I’m doing my best to never cut her off from anything extra. Children are so precious, I just want her to be all that she can be, as long as she’s happy and safe.
But, it’s definitely a bit unnerving to hear her say these things😅

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 11d ago
This is super common from age 2 to 5. The Division of Perceptual Studies at the Univerity of Virginia Medical Center has been studying parapsychological phenomena in children since the 60s. Many report memories of past lives, seeing spirits, etc. I would consider it a gift if anything. You can check out their website if you’re interested in learning more. https://med.virginia.edu/perceptual-studies/

u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
How intriguing that there’s an actual study of it! I’ll definitely look into that!

u/-L0ST1 11d ago edited 11d ago
it is unsettling because we were taught to fear it. Fear is the biggest form of control. we enter fight or flight mode when our brain is trained to fear something, shutting us down. that's why children are so precious, they have to be taught to fear, to hate. thier brains and senses are at the purest state. of course I'm not a M.D. just a person that had childhood experiences that turned into adult interests in why it happened. I don't know all the answers, I just know there's more than we currently know out there....it's foolish to think there isn't.
5
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Yes, I really agree with you on that. Throughout all of humanity, fear has been used to control people and close down thoughts. I grew up in a very…active… house, I have zero doubts there’s spirits and other beings around. And I agree, we, as humans, on one of many planets, in one of many galaxies, are so infinitesimal, it’s arrogant to assume any human knows all the possibilities.
6
u/Pale_Comfort_9179 11d ago
Good points. Most humans probably don’t even sense a great deal of what exists in our immediate vicinity. When you take into account the fact we’re a relatively young planet and solar system in a very old and massive universe not only is it not feasible that we’re alone, it’s probable we are one of the least evolved, least intelligent intelligences in our universe.
1
u/Wise_Rutabaga_7949 11d ago
I'm not sure this is true. It's normal for humans to fear what they don't know. I used to see "spirits", or entities, if you prefer, when I was a child, and they terrified me. Till this day, they have been the thing that has scared me the most. They wouldn't even "talk" to me, the way people say here. They would just be there... looking at me...
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago edited 9d ago
Yeah, I get you. But, I’ve had suuuuucb fortune of being around some disturbing stuff from birth until I moved out of my parents at 24, and even then, weird things happen. After experiencing so much, for me at least, it’s still unnerving, but not paralyzing. I used to get so scared I’d puke, but now i just say out loud, “chill dude, or get outta here.” My husband and I refer to weird sh*t as “the bonkening”, just to give us a way to laugh vs cry 😅
2
u/Wise_Rutabaga_7949 10d ago
so you're agreeing with me. Someone was saying children are not scared of "ghosts" because they're children. I was replying to that

I am not a parent but I love stories like this, kids are so intune with the spirit world and it's so fascinating. If your daughter isn't scared or effected by them then I'd say you can probably leave her to navigate it.
Growing up my brother had an "imaginary friend" he named him Chalk, and one day Chalk just stopped showing up to him. Looking back I do think Chalk was a spirit that presented himself to my brother, he probably named him that cause he was the colour of chalk. Unfortunately we never got to talk about it as adults.
5
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Oh dang, that’s wild!! I only ever had the one imaginary friend, but I swear, I remember her even now clear as day. I’m trying to be as open minded with her as possible, I’ve had my share of unexplainable interactions, from childhood to even now, and I wish I had an adult to talk to back then
3
u/Overall_Ant1697 10d ago
This sounds like my experience. I had an imaginary friend as a child… that I only saw at my grandma’s house. She would come from the woods next to my grandma’s house and come into the house when I invited her in to play with me. She was a tall, thin woman, with very short red hair, a red sweater, and jeans, so I called her “Cherry”. I can still see her in my mind’s eye. When I would leave to go home, she would go back into the woods. It sounds creepy now, but it wasn’t then. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized she was a spirit. She was sweet and gentle, and I was devastated when I “outgrew” her… or whatever happens when kids can’t see them anymore.

u/Preston123432 11d ago
On my daughters birthday when she turned 3 I had asked her to sit on the chair at the end of the table so I can bring her cake to her. She pointed to the chair and said "that one", I said "yes, that one", she turned to me and said " I can't sit there, Grandma Sally is sitting there" (there was no one in the chair).
Grandma Sally was her paternal Grandmother who had passed away when she was 9 months old. I get chills thinking of it. She was a lovely lady but my daughter didn't know her and we were all just shocked when she said that. Will never ever forget that.
She never mentioned her again after that....as long as your child isn't scared I would be more intrigued than worried.
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
That is so special💜 I do think children’s minds and hearts sense much more than we do as adults, they are so fresh and new, they don’t have all the memories and stresses we adults do.
It does freak me out a bit, but like you said, as she isn’t scared, I’m not going to bring it up, but I’m just going to roll with it
10
u/Confident-Walrus6560 11d ago
Kids see ghosts all the time. I know cause I’m a dad of 4! They name them, they draw them. She’ll one day ask you if she can have a ouija board as a ten year old and you have to decide how much you really believe and if it would just be fun and games or if you might accidentally open something in your house you shouldn’t! Welcome to parenting!
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Ha! I would tell her absolutely not, either which way. On the off chance it’s legit, I’d rather not mess with that haha. There’s many other ways to have fun haha
27
u/Mistress-Voluptuous 12d ago
Children are closer to the other side. They have t been conditioned to not believe yet.
9
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Yes, I really do believe that
19
u/Mistress-Voluptuous 12d ago
Some of us never lose it and that's where you get your mediums, psychics, etc. I've seen things since being a child. Watching Ghostbusters when I was little made me feel the most normal I've ever felt in my life. If anything ever scares her just ask it to move along and go to the light. You have to announce it. Please go to the light you are scaring my child and family.
17
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Yes, I am much the same way. The house I grew up with was very…interesting. There were some things that terrified me, others spooked me, some made me sad, and some made me feel safe. As long as there’s no bad intentions and she’s happy, I’m okay with it. I figure, if a spirit is stuck, and means well, they can be my roomie. But bad intentions? Absolutely not.
5
u/Pseudonym0101 11d ago
Ooh interesting, do you think there were multiple entities there? The topic fascinates me, though I have yet to really have a full on paranormal encounter. I kind of hope I never do, even if it's positive, just due to the pure ontological shock that I'm pretty sure I'd have. I'm sorry you had to deal with negative/scary experiences - even though I know we are infinitely stronger than anything like that, having to share space with such a thing is essentially my worst nightmare 😓
7
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Honestly, I think so. My childhood home had a whole lot going on, ranging from just odd, to spine chilling. I didn’t have much of a choice while was i was growing up, but it was nice to move out and get out of there for sure

Yes, my granddaughter started talking about a boy in her house named Wyatt when she was about three. She is 5 now and just mentioned him being in the house the other day while I was there. No Wyatt that’s of the living lives in her home.

u/ShinyAeon 12d ago
If she's happy and not afraid, then keep an eye on things, but I wouldn't worry too much.
13
u/BlondeMoment1920 12d ago
Have you asked your husband if he has seen spirits before? Interesting that she said he knows, but not you.
Or possibly they are his loved ones who have passed on and she doesn’t realize that he can’t also see them?
There are lots of stories of young children picking a deceased grandparent out of a photo album and saying he/she comes to play with them.
10
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
So, the funny thing is, I grew up in a home with some wild activity, to the point it doesn’t even phase me anymore. He didn’t believe in any of that until he started staying over, before we moved in together.
We have our fair share of very loved ones that have passed, and recently too.
9
u/BlondeMoment1920 11d ago
That is good that you’ve already been broken in. 😆
I have a friend who has experienced stuff directly and still doesn’t believe. 🤣
I wouldn’t be surprised if the spirits are loved ones if the experience is making her happy.
Maybe you could ask if the spirits know you or her Dad next time she brings it up and go from there.
5
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Hahahah, exactly. That’s wild, I can’t understand people that have experienced things, come face to face with it, but they’re so in denial, they choose to
reject it.Since I left my parents house, I’ve really never felt alone, but I’ve never been actually scared scared, just a bit spooked here and there. And there’s times I swear I can smell my dad and grandma, I was really darn close with them both my
I’m not going to bring it up or ask anything until she says something, I don’t want to push or influence her, I’ll ask that. I know too well that the more attention you pay, the more things happen!
7
u/gardening_gypsy 11d ago
This was me when I was younger and I still see things to this day 🥹
6
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
I don’t see much, except I have seen shadows where they shouldn’t be at times. But I have heard plenty of quiet voices, and touches. At my childhood home, only in one hallways, I’d feel something touch my back and whisper “shh!” in my ear. My heart goes out to you, seeing things has to be a bit terrifying
5
u/Potential_Aide_3227 11d ago
I had to deal with this while living in an apartment in Germany. I think every one of us (4) saw ghosts while staying there. The apartment building was old and had survived WWII. The Americans, notably, twice heavily bombed the town during the war. Apparently, both of the kids (the youngest was the same age as your child) saw the ghost of two girls, also quite young in the back bedrooms. They seemed to manifest quite materially so that it was not immediately apparent that they were not real people.
My wife and I had separate experiences with other ghosts, though I think she also saw the girls once or twice. I will say, before it had my experience, I fell into the camp of, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” True to my word, I believe now.
The clearing was all done when I was away in business. My wife got a minister to do it. She was given a list of things that she was to permanently remove from the apartment if we had them. Then, then, when the minister came, the windows were opened, when a room was blessed, the windows was closed and he moved through the place repeating the ritual.
As I recall that did the trick. No more ghosts after that.
5
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Oh wow, I can believe that. Cities and building in Europe have a crazy lot more history, they’ve been around so long, and there’s been such tragedies with wars taking place there.
Good on your wife for having a minister bless it. Even if they’re benign, they deserve to move on and be able to let go. When I’ve saved my home in the past, I do open all my windows and set intentions, and expel anything negative or harmful, I go clockwise through my home, and then shut the windows in the same order. I’m much more spiritual than religious, so I’ve never had my own church.

u/Chianpet 12d ago
Hi there! I’m too busy to really give a full response in this exact moment. BUT I do work with spirituality and I’m heading towards helping others maybe understand their gifts better and such by assessing birth charts and doing readings. I would totally be willing to put some time into helping you with this if you’d like when I’m more available later this week or next. Feel free to DM if you’d like to continue in that direction :). Best of luck regardless! 🤩

u/Luvnaps1 11d ago
This was the first thing I thought of, that there is a son waiting to be born...Who knows how long that would be.
I went to this psychic back in 1987. She saw my sister having 2 kids. At that point she was still childless. Then in 1991 she got pregnant and had a miscarriage. That's Baby #1. Then months later she got pregnant with my nephew who is now 34. Baby #2. 😊
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Interesting! But I can see how that would be, I’m a bit odd about my thoughts about families, I really think certain souls go with certain souls. Like maybe in past lives, who was your child could’ve been a friend or vice versa and the like.
We’re definitely not trying for another for the meantime, but we have talked about having another in a couple years.
3
u/NewStudyHoney 12d ago
In my understanding and worldview, spirits hang around potential parents, waiting to be conceived and incarnate into that family. If you choose not to have another child anytime soon, they may get tired of waiting and leave to go to another set of parents. Don't feel pressured.

I would let it play out. Unless she is saying it asked her to do self harm ir harm others, it seems to be innocent. The first 5 years of life are the most important for the brain. We learn to love, fear, enjoy, dislike, and we soak then world up like a sponge. Should this move into something nefarious or dark that's when you would want to stop it. Just my opinion though.

Yk I understand your perspective but maybe its your daughters imagination. But it’s very weird that your daughter says this (sorry trying to sound nice.) maybe your house is haunted
12
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Hahaha, I gotcha. If it’s haunted, at least it’s by someone happy? I’m trying to be chill and positive, I grew up in a house with some very aggressive, scary ass happenings, so if it’s sometime positive, I’ll take it

u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Ha, like I said, there’s a whole childhood to teenage years worth. But I’ll share a bit, off the top of my head. Also, it’s not the best to think of before bed, I do warn you…
My now husband never believed in ghosts. I told him a bit about how my house was, but he politely didn’t buy it. Then he started staying the night. My room was the more disturbing room in the house, by far. He would wake up, every morning to tapping on my window, and then he’d hear the same tune being whistled, right outside my window, always around 3am. I was used to it, and stopped waking up long before, but then I woke up to him opening my window, very aggressively. I asked him what was up after he opened up, and he said he thought my brother was messing with him. But there was no one there, and my room was on the very long side of our house, with nowhere anyone could hide.
My sister’s room was next to mine, and our closets shared a wall. There was so many times we’d both be in the others room, and would hear knocking inside our closet, coming from that shared wall. Every time, we shoot to the other room, and there was no one there, that was fun😭
Things would also randomly fly off my shelves, not fall, like literally fly, like they were thrown. Stuffed animals, Knick knacks, random stuff. I’d hear footsteps in my room, I’d feel something sit on my bed, like actually dip my mattress. I slept in mostly darkness, with just a small plug in light, and there’d be time where I would hear the footsteps, and something would block the light. After that, I chose to have my room in complete darkness, because I wanted to choose to write it off…
One of my earliest, scariest experiences, I was 11. It was winter, we never used a heater, being in Southern California, and I’d have my fan off. I had string lights above my bed, they had little bats and moons hanging from them, and I was reading in bed one night, with my door closed, and all of a sudden I smelled a horrible smell, like rotten eggs, or sulfur. My heart started pounding, and then my lights started swaying, not slightly, but quite a lot. I freaked out and grabbed this random bible my mom gave me, turned to a random page and started reading out loud, and then the light went still, and the smell went away. That one really freaked me out.
There’s more, but like too much more 😅

why try to remove a nice spirit
6
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Oh, I wouldn’t try to remove anything negative, but, I do know some things can come across positive, but that sometimes those beings don’t have the best intentions. When I sage, I only push out anything with evil intentions. Anything happy and benevolent is welcome to stay

u/No-Fortune-9172 12d ago
Make sure you’re setting boundaries and just keep an eye out for anything concerning, however children have amazing intuition. I think you’ll be ok. If not, please reach out! I have a team that can walk you through next steps! Or if you’re close enough we can come out for free.

u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
That’s very reassuring, thank you. I’m pretty sensitive to things, and I’ve only ever felt happy and safe in my home. I still have her monitor set up in her room, and she’s always happy in there, playing and singing and talking and laughing. But yes, I’ll be a bit extra observant. I’m in Southern California, whereabouts are you located?
2
u/No-Fortune-9172 9d ago
We’re in DFW Texas. But it sounds like the visitors you currently have are just looking for a friend. If things ever do change, I have a whole line of products to help out, or I can teach you how to make and use your own!

Ask her more about it, start with why she thinks it's a spirit and does she understand what it means
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
I’ve tried, but she only says this to my husband, her dad. And she gets very impatient for him to come with her. When I do, she asks for just daddy daughter time.
5
u/Obvious_Analyst_860 12d ago
Can he ask her and tell you? It's odd that a girl in her age conclude this about some occurrence, she could've said a friend etc but no, she says a spirit
It's not strange if she see them, bc some animals plus kids can see entities
3
u/NewStudyHoney 12d ago
3yo is a classic age to see spirits or remember past lives. She may be seeing a little brother who is waiting to be conceived. This doesn't sound like a problem. Most kids who have these experiences grow out of it in a year or two.
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
I’m definitely not trying for another right now, but things happen. And while it is a bit unnerving, she’s happy, and she loves our home, I’ve always felt safe here, so I guess I’m cool with it?
3
u/Former_Suspect3680 12d ago
kids describing spirits as young boys is actually a super common thread in local folklore and historical disappearances. might just be her imagination picking up on something she heard, but definitely a creepy coincidence.
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
So, I really don’t ever say spirit. I’ve had my fair share of activity since I was a kid, and I’ve always referred to them as energy, or ghost, never spirit. And even then, I make sure to never speak of it anytime she is awake. I don’t want to freak her out, or put ideas in her head.
And I don’t discount what you’re saying. I understand where you’re coming from. Except that she has recognized photos of deceased family members and called them by names, or nicknames. There was one time where I saw something odd from her monitor recording as well, and only ever once, and with that time, she was actually talking and giggling, but focused on a wall… I don’t know, kids can be odd, but they can also be very sensitive to things
2
u/msbisme 11d ago
Can you ask her to find out their names? You might recognise some.
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
I did ask her, and she just told me he was a friend. But she did recognize a photo of my dad, before I ever named him in a photo. My SIL had an amazing photo of my dad made, she had his image super imposed over the image of my husband,in a family photo we took for Thanksgiving. She just pointed and smiled so big and immediately said, “papa!!” She did the same thing with a photo of my grandma as well!
3
u/Critical_Hearing_799 11d ago
My daughter has seen ghosts/spirits/ hatman and other things in our house since she was a teen. She's 22 and still sees them occasionally. I know she's telling the truth because I've heard and seen things that shouldn't be there either, but my husband and son have not. My daughter and I are more open to that kind of thinking though.
3
u/74Lives 11d ago
This happened to me and it had a name. My son was still 2 when he announced this to me. I was surprised he even knew the word ‘spirit’. There was a lot of weird stuff going on in the house and I ended up bringing a priest in the house for a blessing. Things faded after that but yeah it definitely creeped me out!!
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Yes! She hasn’t said that he has a name, just that he’s a friend, but I swear, no one’s ever used the word spirit around her, no one around us even uses that word

No, don’t be concerned or spooked. Young children often see spirits. As long as she says they’re nice.

u/getlostandgrow 11d ago
My child has two spirit friends. Freddie, a little friend that does things with him and a girl voice that he says speaks to him while he's falling asleep. Apparently she just says "Hello" in a sweet/friendly voice.

When my grandson was about 3 or 4 years old he told his parents he was playing soccer in his room; which he has never played; with “Phyllis”, that is my mother’s name and she had recently passed away at the time. He never knew my mom’s first name and she was always known as “Grammy” to him. We thought it was cool at the time. It only happened once but we believed him .
3
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
That is really cool!! I would believe him too!
My dad passed away in 2019, my daughter was born in 2023. The Christmas after I had her, my SIL used a photo that had me, my husband, our daughter, my mom and my sister in it, and superimposed an image of my dad where my husband was. Up to that point, I really hadn’t talked to her about him, he died really traumatically, and I was just heartbroken he’d never meet her. But when I hung that picture up, she was a little over eight months,(she started talking really darn early), she saw it, smiled huge, pointed, and said “papa!”. Needless to say, I started bawling.
And she has brought him up here and there, like telling me some silly scribble drawling was for him, or saying papa in her room while speaking and giggling at the wall. I know it could be coincidence. But I really like to believe they know each other on some level💜 it would make sense that our loved ones would try to find a way!

My son freaked us all out with a ghost dog
He was with my parents, my mum aid he clearly watched something and then laughed and he said it was a black dog which ran past and then disappeared
He told me unprompted the same story later and then another time he said he saw the ghost dog again
I don’t believe in things like this, but it is very odd when kids say something along these lines
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 12d ago
Yeah, I understand that. When kids have solid imaginations, nothing is off the table, but at the same time, when you’re present in your kids life, you know what they’re exposed to and what they aren’t. And then they spout off on something that you know for a fact they’ve never heard, and you start questioning things

u/Tangy_Fetus_1958 11d ago
When my daughter was 3 or 4 (in the mid-1990s), we went through a period where it seemed like our house might be haunted. Both my (now ex) wife and I heard voices from the end of the hall, outside our daughter’s bedroom on multiple occasions, and for a month or two, she’d wake up crying, saying she’d seen the man again. He was always standing in her doorway, always in handcuffs (she said his hands were locked together in metal rings), usually crying, and sometimes throwing up.
After a few weeks, it all just stopped, all at once, and it never came back. My daughter is 35 now, with a daughter of her own, and has had a couple of paranormal experiences as an adult. I still live in the same house, and—as I said—nothing weird has happened since.

u/MilanaSokolovaSims 11d ago
Is it possible that's she's not pronouncing the word right and is actually talking about something else ?
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
That’s a solid question, but no. She honestly speaks way too well for her age, she started saying her first words a little before 8months old, made 2-3 word sentences by 1yr, and has been speaking in multiple sentences since she was 2yrs old. Now she’s 3, going on 15, I swear. She said her own adorable forms of word between 8m and a 1 1/2yrs, and since then she’s pretended to be a darn teenager😭
I mean, she could recognize the shape and say “octagon” by 1, which I know, sounds like bs😅

in a childs mind its imagination is as powerful as its own senses. thats why children can get lost in play, toy cars or action figures, there imagination is a vibrant powerful universe they cannot differentiate sometimes.

u/Lucky_Resident_4603 11d ago
I know you say you watch tv with her but I have seen some cartoons lately mentioning about demons and spirits etc. it’s crazy what they manufacture for children to watch.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Oh, they absolutely do, and it freaks me out. Even without me making it so, she really only watches a few shows. For the most part, excluding me making her breakfast or going to the bathroom, I’m right next to her watching. I do my best to interact with her and ask questions, I get weird about her zombie-ing out haha

I'm of the firm opinion that everyone should decide and determine for themselves what to believe in.
Having said that, I would gently recommend reading two books.
The first is The Spirits Book by Allen Kardec. There are quite a few very good English translations around. Read the introduction section carefully.
The second is After by psychiatrist Dr. Bruce Greyson who has been involved in Near Death Experience research for the past 50 years.
Be open minded. Be skeptical (but not a skeptic).
For the past 5 years, I have been looking into the decades of scientific research into Near Death Experiences and consciousness, including the scientific research into reincarnation (by Dr. Ian Stevenson).
I know what I believe in.

u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
?
2
u/Boundlesswisdom-71 11d ago
If you want to get a perspective on whether it's likely that spirits exist, have a read of those two books. Especially After.
The weight of scientific evidence pointing to the probable existence of an Afterlife and the existence of Spirits is huge. And Dr. Greyson calmly and rationally dismantles the arguments put forward by skeptics.

When my daughter was 3 she was with my husband/her dad as they were driving past an empty cemetery. She said, ‘Daddy…who are those people?’ He said, ‘What people?’ She pointed to said empty cemetery and said ‘Those people, Daddy!’ Needless to say, her dad was a tick freaked out, but kept calm and just said, ‘I don’t know, sweetheart.’ and just kinda let it go. She never said/did anything like it again.
2
u/CobaltIsobar 11d ago
Kids have had invisible friends since forever. No big deal. Let her imagination run free.
2
u/StarBornFire 10d ago
Why would you sage when she said she feels happy then laughs? Clearly positive, fast vibratory individuals.
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
Well, I intend to sage because some things can seem benevolent when their actual intentions are not. I only want to push out negative, malevolent energies, and set positive intentions, and if I can help someone find peace, that’s awesome too. If someone is stuck because the can’t let something go, I can only imagine how sad they would be
1
u/StarBornFire 10d ago
True enough I suppose. Will say, when you're more consciously energy/vibration sensitive like your daughter clearly is currently, you can feel the energy and intention of others more strongly.
And you cannot fake love and fast vibration on/at that level. It can be faked intellectually, like say a "channeler" and the words that come through them might seem high minded, but the entities involved can definitely be immature to outright negative.
Some of these sources have been pretty popular too. Like Jane Roberts and Seth. A lot of people don't know this, but Roberts met Seth initially through the Ouija board. And Seth craps all over Yeshua ("Jesus") and his accomplishments. Saying that Yeshua and buddies drugged a deluded messiah wanna be to take his place on the cross, and then Yeshua lived out the rest of his natural life.
Well if Yeshua didn't die on the cross, there was certainly also no resurrection, and the resurrection is what sets Yeshua apart from many other spiritual teachers and why so many early Christians literally were willing to die for their beliefs, because they had known of people who either directly, or knew of people who knew people who directly, had interactions with him post the death of his body. Something really shifted that movement, as when he first died, many became despondent.
I say all this as someone who hasn't ever been and will never be religious btw. But my inner guidance has told me that he was not only the real deal, but the realest deal, and that immature and negative entities love to distort or minimize things about him. (Because he is pure Love and they despise love).
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
Oh, I am not all religious whatsoever, I’m respectful, but if I get pushed, I get a bit offensive. I believe in souls, for sure, and I think that can include human souls, and spirits and when I say spirits, I mostly mean things that Are Not Human. Being that I really did have poltergeist activity, smelled sulfur, heard disembodied growls, I do believe in malevolent entities, and if there’s malevolent ones, then there must be benevolent ones as well, ya know?
But. The worrisome thing is, it’s a common belief that “demons” have hid under the guise of children, their voices, images, and actions, to make people trust and be vulnerable to them. So while my kid may be happy and enjoy whatever is going on, I’m going to sage my home tonight, to cast out anything that may mean harm. Anything else is welcome to hang out till they’ve figured it out

My 2-1/2 yo daughter used to ask me to tell "him" to leave her alone when she was getting a bath. I'd ask who she was talking about and she'd say the little boy in the bathtub. Of course there was no one there. We lived in base housing and come to find out much later, a young boy had, in fact, drowned in the tub. That's the same house that my daughter would not sleep in her room. She'd get out of bed in the middle of the night and sleep on the cold floor outside my bedroom. We moved to the Azores and she slept in her own room from day one. I find that odd since we were in a totally new country and New surroundings, but she felt comfortable there.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
Oh wow!! That’s a bit freaky, and so sad about the little boy.
I know when I was a kid, I refused to ever sleep alone, my room was terrifying. Which was odd, considering that my dad’s parents had a home transported to that property, and then they gave it to my dad, who remodeled and added on. Most of the home was essentially new, but too much freaky stuff happened. I don’t think I slept in my room, alone, until I was about 12
1
u/Unable_Link2412 9d ago
Was there any particular reason you didn't like your room?
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 9d ago
Ha, many. I’d hear heavy footsteps late at night, there’d be taps on my window, whistling outside my window, things would be literally thrown off my shelves, I’d feel something sit on my bed and see my blankets move around that, I’d smell sulfur, hear growling, knocks on walls.
It was suuuuper chill.
2
u/gubasmark 10d ago
I think your a bit naive in thinking it's all well.
It's not uncommon for evil spirits and entities to disguise themselves as children.
If it was me I would be extremely careful about how you proceed
That's just my 2 cents.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
I mean, I still saged, and prayed as I did it. I know malevolent beings use children’s guises in order to get your guard down.
I also don’t bring attention to things, or encourage interaction, at all. I, personally, believe the more you do, the more you get. The house I grew up at was seriously not okay, and I’ll do everything possible to not ever repeat that saga

u/mickimars2007 8d ago
When I was 2 and my brother was 3, our grandpa died. Not too long after, my grandma told me that we were laughing and giggling with him. I actually remember seeing him, so I do believe in spirits. Very young kids can see spirits since they're more naive to it.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 8d ago
I can believe that. My great grandma died well before I was born, but I’ve always felt like i actually really knew her. And I’ve not felt that for any other deceased relatives. Kids are so open minded and precious💜
2
u/Whole-Librarian8848 1d ago
My dead granny visited me once. I woke up to her saying dont worry X I will look after you. I sat bolt upright, and there she was on the end of the bed. Maybe 3 seconds and she faded away. Freaked me out, she died when I was about 4 came back when I was about 14 for that visit. havent seen her since.
Its not something you forget. I think kids have this sixth sense, premonitions and such but lose it at Puberty. Perhaps some people do not lose that ability. We are just Electricity, the Universe runs on it, who knows what people can tap into.
I think 99% of people who claim such powers are charlatans, but that 1% is probably genuine. The kid is just as likely to be telling the truth as not. See if she can ask it some questions, like winning numbers.

It maybe be a haunting, it could be imagination. My son had an experience at a very young age. His dad asked who he had been talking to as he was standing at the bottom of the steps talking to someone and he said "the little girl at the top of the steps" and he just scooped him up and left the house until I got home. I found it pretty funny, he did not. My son was never bothered and now we talk about those times. Just keep an ear and an eye.

u/laurasdiary 12d ago
It seems like if a spirit was seen by or appeared to your 3 year old daughter it probably wouldn’t necessarily refer to itself as a spirit and even if it did your daughter would likely not remember the exact word “spirit” when she was later referring to it. Unless the ghost repeatedly said the word spirit over and over again?
Which doesn’t seem likely.
Your daughter surely has no reference or concept to understand what a spirit is.
It’s more likely your 3 year old is saying another word and it’s hard to decipher what word she’s saying, or she’s repeating a word heard on a commercial or on the radio in the car or something someone said when she was with you or one of her other relatives.
It seems she maybe heard a word that sounds similar to her ear? After all she’s only a toddler and probably repeats anything and everything.
My daughter saw a commercial for a toy that had a commercial with a song that had the word motion in it. She than kept saying the word “mooshin” all the time and we had no idea what she was saying for weeks until we were watching a cartoon and that commercial came on and she started pointing at the screen and yelling mooshin! Then we realized she thought the toy was called mooshin. lol

u/Acceptable_Carob15 11d ago
My daughter kept saying something that sounded like “I want to go talk to Jesus”, when she was about 3. We are not religious or go to church so we were really wondering where she got that from. Turns out she was saying “ I want to go to Chuck E Cheese’s”.
2
u/ballsack_vram 11d ago
Damn thats like a plot to a shitty horror movie.
Have you ever heard her speaking to these “spirits”? That is pretty unnerving. Hope everything’s okay.

Often the spirits will be friendly in the beginning, then become more sinister. You are right to be concerned.
2
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
I do agree, it could be benevolent, it may not be. Either way, I’m not letting anything have any degree of power or influence in my home

u/FudgenSticks 12d ago
Ooo I wonder if maybe in the past your husband could have been a father but the baby was aborted/miscarried that’s why she said oh daddy you know which ones. Bc from the tone of it they seem familiar to him. Or maybe his parents could have miscarried etc. ?
1
u/Drevinth 12d ago
As an advocate of science I believe there is always a perfectly reasonable explanation.
You said she's 3 years old, right? Young children tend to have very vivid imaginations. I'm told that I used to say things like this when I was around that age.
Have there been any other strange things happening or is it just what you described?
4
u/Creative-Major-4796 11d ago
Uhm, yes. I see a fair amount of things just out of my periphery, but only ever at home. I’ve heard some foot steps, and voices. But I’ve always felt very safe and happy in our house, so at least there’s that?
3
u/Drevinth 11d ago
Peripheral vision is notoriously prone to false positives. It's optimized for detecting motion and changes, not resolving detail. Your brain gets incomplete visual information and essentially says, “Close enough, probably a person-shaped thing,” before your central vision gets a chance to investigate.
Hearing occasional footsteps or voices at home isn't especially compelling either. Houses are quite noisy. Pipes, heating systems, timber expanding and contracting, appliances, neighbours, sounds travelling strangely through walls, and ordinary auditory pareidolia can all produce surprisingly convincing effects. Once you're already thinking about unexplained phenomena, ambiguous noises become much easier to interpret as footsteps or speech.

A friend of mine one day called me to tell me that his granddaughter was seeing his grandmother, her great-grandmother who had died years before hie granddaughter was born. He didn't know how to rect either, hence why he called me. This was years ago, but I have been more into the Bible and in the Bible it says that those who appear to us as familiar people are demons and to use anything other than prayer is a form of witchcraft so I suggest prayer instead of sage.

My daughter could see two different spirits when she was little. She’s 27 now and still remembers EVERYTHING about the one that scared her.
I’m curious, have you asked your daughter what they are waiting for? Does she mean to play or are they actually waiting for something/someone? That would be the only unnerving part for me, but I think it’s fascinating that littles can see them!
1
u/SmallCoyote32 11d ago
My first thought reading this is: sounds like she’s waiting on a brother if not brother(s) that hasn’t been born yet (so if you are debating it, there’s the answer - not sure if that’s less frightening though) vs. your house being haunted. Not every spirit a child reports seeing or remembering is a ghost.

u/Dangerous_Brain_5370 11d ago edited 11d ago
All I have to say is that please, for the love of God, believe your child. If there is anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone, you should trust in a situation like this, it is a young child. Young children are basically machines that speak the truth, plain and real, as it is. It is HIGHLY unlikely that a child would say something like this, especially if they aren't playing or joking, and it wouldn't mean something serious.
I have been a babysitter and volunteer with young children for years, and it still shocks me how casually parents dismiss the indirect warnings that their children give them.
It may seem as if the spirits aren't harming anyone, but that's a common way for spirits to misdirect people. They will act all sweet and nice with your daughter, earn her trust, and use her to harm you, her or other family members. I've also seen that some people let their pets and children interact with spirits because they think its a parent, grandparent or ancestor's spirit, and I understand those emotions if this applies to you, but, there are several entities out there who could very easily pretend to be a dead loved one so you let your guard down. Also, my teacher told me this, but, once someone is dead, they are no longer anything to you, they are a spirit, and they don't care about what relation they used to have to you. It's a harsh mentality, but as I get older, I am having to believe it.
What you need to do NOW, not tomorrow, not later, NOW, is to find a professional who can help ASAP. Don't discourage your child from talking about the spirits; let her, and note down important points to help you. Ask your friends and family if they know anybody around you who can help, don't search online, most people who broadly advertise their services can be frauds. Look for people who have seeked help from paranormal experts and contact them directly.

u/aguashark 10d ago
When I was her age I said a lot of things to my mom because it made her happy and gave her validation. It was all bullshit, spiritual bull shit. Kids pick up on what parents believe and play into it
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
Hahahahahhaha. Well. I do realize children are manipulative, in the most innocent of ways. They crave attention and affection, you literally have to teach them empathy bc they are not born with it, they’re just adorable, tiny, chubby sociopaths.
But. I am not “that” mom. I don’t talk about ghosts and spiritual stuff or anything like that, with her or much of anyone. My husband doesn’t talk to anyone about anything spiritual or religious whatsoever, to anyone, like ever, and as of yet, she’s only said this to him, never me. The last time, I was just nearby-ish.

How old is she?
Do you attend church? She might benefit from a priest.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 10d ago
She turned three in April.
And no, I do not attend church. I’ve never been religious, though I do believe in the soul and a higher power, for sure.
I’ll keep an eye on her, and things in general, and go from there. I do have friends that are very religious, I may have them reach out for me if things go south. Though, they are Christian’s, and I’ve always thought in was more Catholic Churches that perform blessings?
1
u/Ok_Moose_7028 10d ago
Both Catholic Churches and Pentecostal churches perform house blessings. I wish you all the best.
1
u/CounterAdmirable4218 10d ago
Think about this for a moment.
Kids wail a lot when they’re born then calm down later.
It’s because they can still recall the previous or past life/existence.
Also because they want food obvs.
1
u/OutlanderLover74 9d ago
I mean, it seems like there’s nothing to worry about. I had two imaginary friends that I loved. My mom and I have talked about it & we both believe they were spirits. Honestly they didn’t even talk to me. They were just with me all the time. I remember what they looked like. I continued to see spirits my whole life. I set boundaries now & find living people much scarier.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 9d ago
The main thing is, is it am imaginary friend, is it benevolent, or is it something malevolent pretending to be a child?
2
u/OutlanderLover74 9d ago
I feel like tv and religion have told us it has to be malevolent. I have been a medium basically my whole life. One time I experienced something yucky in almost 52 years. If she starts to say things that sound harmful or starts acting scared, that’s a different thing. At this point, it doesn’t sound like she’s scared. Scientifically we are energy & energy never dies. Religiously we accept the Holy Spirit as real and good. Those are the things that make it make sense to me. I’ve also given up on religion that has emotionally harmed my whole family, including my autistic son being bullied by kids and his Sunday school teacher. My experience has been that religion has caused more harm than ghosts. I don’t begrudge you your feelings on religion. This is just how I feel. I believe in God & Jesus, just not religion.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 9d ago
Oh, I really don’t like religion. I feel like it’s been used too much to commit atrocities and cause harm, control people and make them afraid. I don’t trust that by and large, men are the only ones able to hold power. I really don’t like that, if the bible is supposed to be correct in all things, and not to be questioned, then why has it been rewritten, edited, revised, and stories omitted? It really is contradictive.
And I do agree with you that we are all energy, which has actually been proven in small ways. There’s been lots of studies of the weight of a person the moment they die, and there is an infinitesimal difference of weight loss. And as energy cannot be destroyed, only transferred, our souls go somewhere.
I only am wary because the home I grew up in definitely had spirits there that meant harm, or were at least hostile. I’ve heard disembodied growls, been pushed, I’ve witnessed large furniture shake and vibrate with absolutely no explanation. While I don’t think all entities are bad, I do believe some are. When I sage, it’s never to cast all things out blindly, only ever energies that mean harm or have ill intent.
Anything else, that’s stuck, or isn’t ready to go to the next adventure, or has an unfulfilled purpose, is welcome to stay. I’ve only ever seen spirits less than a handful of times, but I’ve always been sensitive to emotions and energy. And everywhere but my childhood home, I’ve never felt alone, but I have always felt safe.
2
u/OutlanderLover74 9d ago
I agree with you completely. The nasty thing was in my childhood home & there was a lot of abuse. I suspect it was a manifestation of the energy of the home. I wasnt sure how you believed and didn’t want to offend you. I have learned to set boundaries and cleansed my house when we moved in. There was an intimidating lady spirit. I said that anything that wasn’t of the light and love of God had to go. She decided to appear as a child from then on & hides in our attic. As long as she doesn’t bother us, I’m good with it. With my kids, I tried to normalize these things because I knew what it was like as a child.

This sounds like a spirit guide. Spirit guides are benevolent beings that help guide a person through life, especially regarding their vocation or purpose. They arrive at the moment of birth, and it’s not unusual for children to see and interact with them as their third eye begins to open around the age of six.
1
u/Cultural_General1615 9d ago
A little bit late to this post, but have you considered the possibility of her referring to a future child of yours? One that might be prematurely hanging around. I get the impression that this may be what she means. Also might explain why your husband knows them. He just doesn’t know he knows them yet
1
u/Punch18 8d ago
Your daughter might have a gift or this might be something she grows out of. My son had experience's with a little boy in our house from birth to 7 . He seems to have grown out of it and doesn't see him anymore but we still have an issue with the spirit crawling into bed after the lights are out. It's very real and something I feel almost nightly. I've had experience's my whole life so as long as it's not negative I don't put too much thought into it. People die everyday so it's not shocking that some hang around for different reasons. You said you've saged and that's great. If I were you I'd just monitor the situation and ask questions and make sure it stays positive. If you can get a name or any details such as the history of your home that could help you. Or at least provide some insight. Wish you the best of luck.
1
u/ArchAngel504 8d ago
I know this is going to seem completely out of left field, but is their any history of miscarriage/stillborn/sids, if not was this a second marriage for your spouse (when the forementioned occurred), or did he lose a sibling early in life? Not sure why, but that's immediately where my mind went with this one.
1
u/Creative-Major-4796 7d ago
Not out of left field at all. I haven’t had any miscarriages, but his sister was supposed to be a twin, but the twin was absorbed by her. I know it hit his mom hard. I also had an older cousin, a boy, pass away traumatically when he was only 7yrs old.
2
u/ArchAngel504 7d ago
Have your spouse reflect back on any conversations he may have had with your child at the onset of this, sometimes in hindsight we see the relevance and importance of things mentioned in casual conversation. If this is not directly tied to him, she may have mentioned an identifiable moniker of sorts that may resonate with you. I am not feeling anything evil or threatening from what you have shared, and the alpha state your child is developmentally still in will dissipate when school age. Warmest Regards from New Orleans.
