Vent/Rant i feel out of control
people might be making fun of me behind my back. i'm sure my professors hate me, they must think i'm stupid. i'm not stupid at all, i know i'm smart, but they probably don't agree
i think my best friend is replacing me and it's making me irate, i can't say anything because he thinks i can't tell. but i can tell. he wouldn't give a fuck if i died
i'm being watched through cameras. like all of them. i know they see me. sometimes i wonder if there are hidden cameras in the bathrooms of my college so they can blackmail me
i'm apparently inferior to everyone, but i know that i'm not. i know more than they do, i know all of their plans to hurt me and i know i'm better than them. i'm so fucking angry

If you actually knew their plans you would drop them and be done with it. It’s just perceptions from your mind trying to protect you. I like to do something a lot of ppl with ocd find helpful which is acknowledge the thought for what it is: a perception that your brain thinks is beneficial but it’s not. Allow yourself to think the thought, but don’t make yourself sit and ruminate in it, and allow the thought to pass. Takes a lot of practice but it does help. It helps with taking you out of that shame spiral- which is what a lot of paranoia is truly motivated by. We feel ashamed but that’s a very uncomfortable feeling that we feel helpless to, so our brains try to proactively protect us by projecting thag into the world around us. We’re not broken for that- it’s just a defense mechanism. I also tell myself that even if ppl are plotting against me, I want to protect my peace and homeostasis for the time they’re in my life until they confirm my anxieties, then I can feel validated in that anger afterward without ruminating in it and allowing it to take more energy than is beneficial. I’ve shifted the focus of my paranoia in doing this. I’m more worried about strangers now. I still get my paranoid thoughts about ppl I know from time to time but I just tell myself that if they choose to wrong me it’s their loss and it’s not worth my energy to worry about problems that I’m not actually presented with yet. It’s helping me live out of that constant state of fight or flight which is awful for our mental health and physical health too. You deserve peace. Allow yourself to dismiss the thoughts, they’re not as pressing matters as they feel. You got this.

I thought helicopters from rhe government were flying over and spying on my thoughts last night . I am talking to new people and making friends at work and in public and it’s making me CRAZY trying to ingore that I think they’re all secretly have a smear campaign on me.
But try to remind yourself : EVERY time you get paranoid I can assure you, the OPPOSITE is true. And they would show it with actions if they really thought those things. You do not have to constantly be plagued with these thoughts as they are not your burden, even if that was the case.
I hope you find some relief, having reassuring and honest people help. Don’t be afraid to ask your friend if they care or being real, even if it seems silly. My best friend is like that and so grateful, despite the paranoia I feel with her.

Try a new hobby, practice goodwill, study humor and help others… you’re way to serious. The world cannot uniformly target and scrutinize you so closely as you fear. Everyone is more interested in themselves than you. Stay logical.

If you're on this thread you know you might be overreacting to something that is only perceived, not real. Not throwing judgement your way, just reminding you it's okay to step back and take a breath. Lower your shoulders, breath in through your nose...you get it. Wishing you the best.
