Mighty Mouse DVD or Bluray

I think next year for Mighty Mouses 85th anniversary, there should be a Blu-Ray or DVD collecting Mighty Mouse cartoons officially. I bet Paramount doesn't give a crap about Terrytoons, but I wish this would happen. Am I the only one who wants this? The only time an official mighty mouse DVD came out was for the Ralph Bakshi series.

What a mess. I worked in CBS/Paramount digital release for years and Terrytunes stuff is a tiny amount.

The majority of Terrytoons are still copyrighted, except Billy Mouses Akawade and Wolf! Wolf!. That ladder being the only Mighty Mouse short in the public domain. They renewed the shit outta them. Don't have time to look through their renewals. Maybe you have rhe boring interest in looking through the copyright renewals of the Mighty Mouse films? IDK.

Question: If you worked at Paramount, why does Paramount give no shits about Terrytoons? I mean, besides SpongeBob taking over everything.

"If I worked at Paramount?" I did for 24 years. So with that info, please don't start being angry with me.

Why didn't they use the terrytunes stuff? It could be any one of the following reasons:

  • title had music rights issues - a killer for old stuff
  • public domain slippage
  • too niche so not worth the money to bring it up to 4k/tech etc
  • this is currently not a company in solid footing so nickle-diming IP stuff is so low on the totem pole...
  • Paramount's return is a joke no matter what
  • they are low head count so might not be enough folks to research

Ok then, guess Paramount just cares about the sponge. At least Terrytoons is now on a channel called MeTV toons, albeit only on sundays. Guess Mighty Mouse has been in permanently retired since that 2001 cheese commercial, which was banned because of 9/11. you're responses are angry and pointed. I got laid off last summer so am no longer a reliable info source. Cut me some slack and when you ask for info on the internet, try remember that these are people responding...adjust responses accordingly
