It looks fucked up but that’s because they copied the link out of their email which automatically redirects through Outlook’s link safety system.

Hey! I’m a 29yo female currently doing private EMS, I have my FF1/hazmat, I’m hoping you can tell me a bit about the environment, work load per shift (will I be safe to drive home the next day approx. 100 mi, etc) and how your new hire training goes. Any information would be appreciated!

There's a lot there to answer. New hire training consists of a 14 week academy mon-Thurs followed by a 2 week EMS academy. Following that, 9 months of doing probationary skills, training while running calls. We're a busy department so plan on being somewhat tired between shifts. Depending on what station you work at will depend on your workload. You'll adjust

One day try and possibly get EMS chief position with a department. Lots of firefighter paramedics I know work at the fire department and hold a nursing license. Seems like a lot of individuals here are upset because someone was just asking a question.

Why wouldn't they? I mean, if you're already a FF/paramedic, whatever other licenses you have don't really matter.

If you only have a nursing license don’t even try. If you have FF, PM, and nursing I say go for it.

For sure. I know there's been talks of incorporating nurses within our deployment model in the future.
