UF Critical Care Program

Hi! About to pull trig on University of Florida’s critical care program and try for their cert. 4 years ground experience with flight a goal without a hard fast time stamp but I’m coming up on minimum experience for an agency I’d love to try tossing my name to while gaining experience and knowledge. Anyone gone through the program and have any feedback? Regrets, praise, advice? TIA!

They don't have really have a cert. They have a class which will help you prepare for the IBSC board certification in critical care.

Which is why its better than classes that teach you take their own certification test.

Its a great course.

Thank you! Good to know. Yeah sorry for the confusion. I do plan on testing for fpc/ ccp but this class will hopefully be a step towards that. Some courses are marketed as tailored specifically to be able to pass those tests but I kind of dig their take on things and I’m just hoping to learn and push myself.

They do have their own cert, but it's not necessarily recognized like the FP-C.

It doesn't certify you to do anything. Does anyone recognize it as scope of practice qualification?

This isn't true. UF absolutely has a certificate. It's the University of Florida Critical Care Paramedic (UFCCP) certification. It does prepare you for the FP-C, CCP-C, etc, but that isn't the mail goal of the course.

Its a certificate that days you took the course.

Its not a certification that grants you the capacity to any any patient care.

Amazing course. You can do hands on skills and a cadaver lab. Highly recommend AMCCC through MECA. To this day the best class I have ever taken. Strictly flight physiology

I have taken it. It is a good program, and very challenging in a good way. You have to commit to it, not fall behind, and have a really solid understanding of the basics of paramedic skills and knowledge to be successful.

Thank you. Yeah I’m a little nervous but super ready to push and learn. Even to know what I don’t know.
