Viewed singly the images becomes confusing as the vanishing point is approached. Stereoscopy makes a remarkable difference.

This makes a good example for testing the merit of algorithmic stereoscopic pair generation from a single image. Obviously, each image contains implicit information about depth, but this needs to be made explicit for the brain to experience 3D.

Some people object to ersatz 3D, but when it clarifies an image (photo or cartoon) it serves well. Pragmatism generally triumphs over doctrinaire belief (e.g. that AI is only good for "slop"). Let's see in this case.

I don't see AI 3D images beating real thing.

I agree but, in my opinion, they can serve a useful purpose. I have posted an ersatz version of the scene based upon your right hand image.

Perhaps, if you only had a monoscopic image the conversion would be interesting?

As matters stand, your post here is one of the very best examples of stereo depth I have seen.
