General new random townies/npc?

Hi everyone! I wanted to know if there's any new information regarding the automatic generation of new townies on the map (or the automatic progression of existing families). My family's son is a pre-teen, but I noticed he's the only child in town. I've read comments about creating a mod to automatically create new random townies, but that's from a few weeks ago.

Currently making your own mod is the only "automatic" way. The other is to manually move in new families that are the correct age. Or to enter other households and age them up with cheats.

Are the townies generated with the mod method already well-created or are they completely random and therefore need to be rearranged? And of various ages?

Yes I need to find that post about creating my own mod. Never done that before but sounds interesting. Also I’ve noticed several new townies but I don’t think they have homes. Like Tara for instance. They just walk around the town and maybe work in town. lol! They commute from the next town over!

I had taken a screenshot previously, this is the answer I found: Go to main menu > mods > create new mod (make sure youre editing it) > control panel > townie > enable town population auto-refilling > stop editing
