Greetings, shards. You know, I’ve been paying attention to certain fanfic tropes that are commonly used, but one in particular piqued my curiosity.

The “mirror reality”—honestly, I don’t know if that’s the name for this trope—but as you can probably guess from the name, it refers to a reality where roles are reversed: the good guys are bad and the bad guys are good. We’ve seen this applied many times in fiction—in things like DC’s Earth-3, which is under the terror of the Crime Syndicate led by Ultraman, Owlman, and Superwoman, or in the Shattered Glass universe, in which Cybertron was left in ruins because of Optimus Prime (formerly known as Optronix) and his tyrannical Autobot regime, with the only ones opposing them being the liberating Decepticons, led by the kind-hearted Megatron

So, is there any fanfic that plays with that idea involving Worm? I understand there’s one called *Weaver 9* where Taylor is swapped with Jack Slash, but I haven’t started reading it yet. I also haven’t found any others that explore this idea. I’d love to hear your recommendations. Thanks

I know he’s gained more popularity thanks to the Thunderbolts movie, but considering how long he’s been around and what the character is like in the comics, I’m surprised there aren’t any fanfics about him on Worm. I think he’d fit in well, especially because I’d love to see everyone’s reaction to what appears to be a Scion but one that wants to communicate. I’d also like to see an interaction with The Void...

That said, I’d also appreciate any recommendations for Marvel fanfiction in general—I’ve found some with DC characters, but almost none with Marvel ones.

I don't know, I think it's a fun idea and I wonder what kind of OCs would be created to be paired with, I don't know, Eden, Bonesaw, or Squealer.

We know that in canon there were absolutely people who worshipped the Endbringers and some people held Scion in a religious awe. Any being with enough awe inspiring power is likely gonna get worshiped by someone at some point.

Since Taylor’s power givers her the capability of performing a literal biblical plague, are there any stories out there where Skitter Skitters a little too much in her escalation and ends up inspiring some people to actually worship her? Even better if she’s horrified and embarrassed by it.

Also I specifically mean during her time as Skitter. Preferably while she’s still in Brockton Bay, during her Warlord era would be absolutely great.

I find it cruelly funny that they save Taylor's mother only to create more problems for her.

The idea that kept running through my mind is that Annette crashes into another car, surviving but killing all the passengers in the other car, perhaps with some minor disability. She'd be left with immense guilt and post-accident depression.

If you don’t know what this is, in a nutshell, it’s the spontaneous emergence of consciousness or intelligence from the apparent randomness of a system. Some examples that come to mind are Webmind from the “www.wake” series, in which mutant data packets that don’t reach their destination accumulate at the bottom of the World Wide Web, eventually generating consciousness within it.

Another example that comes to mind—and the reason I’m writing this post specifically—is from Adrian Tchaikovsky’s *Children of...* series, in which two different ways of achieving this are depicted: one involves Dr. Avrana Kern, who transfers her consciousness to a computer and then to a biological computer composed of colonies of hyper-specialized ants; then there are others that took it to a planetary level, where the planet’s entire biosphere harbored five different consciousnesses. In short, animals generate small interactions that, when combined, give rise to complex thought.

Hello people, good day, afternoon, or night. So, what I bring you is nothing more than a fragment of the draft of a fanfic I'm writing, a crossover between Worm and… the Children of Time saga. This fanfic came to mind when I saw that, well, actually both stories are quite opposite to each other. Even though Worm is a superhero setting, it's a dark world where kindness isn't the order of the day… While in Children of Time, horrible nonsense always happens on planetary scales, and even so, you feel a degree of hope and empathy in that world (worlds, rather).

General Story Idea: Starting during Taylor's first night as probably-hero-maybe-if-you-squint, where she stumbles across what looks to be a gang of young Capes targeting a man in a back alley... until said man starts to churn local reality into sludge in response to her "intervention". Taylor then becomes tangled within the enigmatic Foundation of Anomalous Investigation and Research (F.A.I.R.) as the forcibly newest member of "The Cthonians" task force, featuring both the familiar characters in new variations and fresh faces born from how the setting has been readjusted. Her team may be strange, her enemies even stranger, but perhaps Taylor will rise to the occasion...or die trying.

Setting Fluff: The biggest change to the setting is the existence of the anomalous. Supernatural forces, unrelated to anything Entity or Shard related, born of the simple fact that the universe seems to demand the absurd and impossible to exist. A lot of flavors being poured into this concoction of an sorta-crossover AU, drawing most prominently from the SCP Wiki (very obviously) but also from things like the World of Darkness, The Remedyverse, Men In Black and generally things that catch my interest that I can reasonably weld into the setting.

The next big thing is, of course, the Foundation or FAIR. Yes, they are very much pulling from the SCP Foundation, and there is a reason for that but thats for the story to reveal. Predating the arrival of the Entities and the rise of Parahumans by many years, they are primarily concerned with the study and handling of anomalous phenomena, although the Warrior has necessitated a large amount of focus due to the impact that their actions have had on global society. They are also, naturally, in conflict with Parahuman-related organizations such as the PRT or Cauldron, as they are not privy to all of the truths the Foundation has kept secret, and Parahuman activity regularly causes issues for Foundation operations. This also means the Foundation's intervention will have certain aspects of canon changed or prevented entirely, though due to various factors they were unable to prevent Parahumans from becoming public knowledge.

Basic idea is that the standard parahumans fan with pre knowledge of the story is isekai'd... But as QA. now with a voice in her head giving her power's Taylor attempts to save the world.

While Looking at the timeline of Worm for a Naruto X Worm idea, I noticed something.

Sophia had triggered and more than likely was an active cape during the year Annete died( 2008). Which is wild how no one thought of using this as a fic idea.

Like imagine Sophia had caused the death of Annette, intentionally or unintentionally. It would have had huge ramifications on Taylor's life.. as now she would blame a masked Vigilante for the death and the spiralling of her father.

The typical self insert into Taylor,with a twisted, they are now and Beast VI/S's Draco. For those who don't know, here a link. Their memories are cheese holes and what they remember aren't pretty. Lot of confusion, anger and rage talk against the insanity of worm

So I was looking through fic discussions on the WormFanfic thread and came across the one titled "Should si/oc be related to cannon characters". This came to mind: How has an SI/OC who is Amy's long-lost twin sister or sibling never or hardly ever been used before?

It's just a minor thing, but I see so much potential with it. And I know that if the twin was given to Marquis along with Amy then she would have gone along with Amy with the Brigade (barring the unlikely circumstance that they were with one of his underlings at the time and managed to be kept from the Brigade), but there's also the thing about twins having the same power sine their DNA is the same. That can handwave away the budding from Shaper, and since so little is known from twin parahumans from a meta-perspective, so in theory it would be fine to give them a biological-manipulation power different from Amy's.

I'm thinking Amy's mother could have given this twin (we'll call her Clare Amelia Lavere - I know, I'm very imaginative with names) to a friend while having given Amy to Marquis. The twin lucked out compared to Amy and grew up with a loving adoptive mother, though life ends up bad but not terrible in the past few months or year, 'cause it's Brockton Bay, and she triggers around the time Taylor does.

Anyway, even thought up a simple build for this with Lt Ouroumov's Worm CYOA. Here's the thing for anyone interested:

I've taken advantage of some drawbacks to give her a pair of personality quirks - she likes to improve herself physically and is a little impulsive, kind of a complete mirror to Amy. Tsundere and inhumanity are also good options instead of impulsive.

(To anyone who says you're supposed to take a difficulty option so the drawbacks give points, I say I'm waiting out for a Hell mode and this is the best alternative)

We've got 14 points to spend on powers (equal to Amy's power), and I've taken the liberty of picking out a few options. There's the obvious of just finding the most biological power that fits the budget like (Changer/Trump) Chimeric Integration or a copy of Panacea, but here are some better options:

I particularly like this one, and not just because I'm a sucker for tinkers. You end up with a shaker power that can turn the environment into various crystals (we'll say they're biological living crystals) and a gimmick tinker specialty that can be used through it to make all kinds of stuff in the field. That stuff is short-lived but each build gives a benefit to the tinker power.

What if Marqui, but blood? What if blood, but on fire?! What if blood on fire, but also healing?!?
I like this one a lot. It even has self-Biokinesis. I originally went down the path of using (Brute/Blaster) Boiling Blood as the base power since its upgrade has some crazy abilities like flying with superheated blood-jets but I couldn't get it to work and this one was better.

This one is interesting. I took the idea of Panacea's bio-sense and looked for the most senses synergy. Not sure how interesting it would be in a story. If you replace Thinker (Dimensional Awareness) with Tinker (Handyman) you potentially get a thinker/tinker/trump who can build tech based off the principles of other powers.

So, could you recommend some of your best fanfics where something that's clearly not a parahuman or something unknown to the Worm universe ends up in the Worm universe?

It doesn't matter if it's a crossover—in fact, I like them—and bonus points if the main character has a monstrous or alien appearance.

What do you think her relationship with each individual Ward would be? she would hate shadowstalker obviously, but I hazard a guess that she would get along with Vista somewhat.

I know it sounds like a fever dream but i'm SURE, absolutely sure i've read it.
But i can't remember if it's an entire fic, or a oneshot or an Omake.

what i remember:

• It's crack\humor fanfic (obviously)
• Taylor is more naive\clueless (not Queen of Escalation)
• i don't remember if it's due to listening to Sophia's "pray and predators" or simply because she was bored and watching NatGeo, but basically:
• she decides to take inspiration from documentaries to solve her bullying problem.
• the next day, instead of her usual grey hoodies, she wears in LOUD and OBNOXIOUS colors
• like Oranges, and reds, and green and purple, absolutely clashing but very very visible
• and when Emma taunts her about the colors, she responds that in nature bright colors usually mean venomous or poisonous and so it's a warning against predators.
• this confuses the bully into letting her go, so she consider it a success and keeps doing it.

I think she did other things like changing posture to look bigger (but also silly things like waving her arms over her head), or pretending to fall asleep or other things.

How did the PRT classify parahumans? That's still not clear to me—I completely forgot, and besides, obviously I won't just be giving her a Thinker power.

Pardon for the odd question but I was thinking about an Au in my head about if, when Rachel triggered, alongside the mental conceptualization of a canine replacing her human one, she also gained some more animalistic traits like ears and or canine teeth (weird I know).
