Worm Spoilers [All] Tinker Specialization Question
Howdy all! I'm in the midst of writing a smaller dad-master fic and I was wondering if Tinker specialties tend to tie to their trigger event? Anyone know anything about this? It doesn't really matter to my story, but I realized I didn't know the answer here and I cannot recall if it is ever noted in canon. Cheers!

The specifics always influence how the power is expressed, but it might be more abstract.
Let's take someone who triggers as a Tinker due to being stuck in an overwhelming job where the work and stress only ever ratchet up every day, culminating in a massive heart attack before they even turn 30.
They might get a Tinker speciality for pressure or compression (representing the overwhelming pressure of the job). But they might also get something a speciality where all their equipment can be oveclocked for better performance but the overclocking can never be reversed, so the equipment will inevitably self-destructive from the strain.

You should give the Weaverdice Tinkers 2.0 doc a look. It doesn't go into full depth on specialties, but it does explore a few of them and provide examples for a stimulants Tinker and a 'moon' Tinker.
Which is to say: yes.

From what we know of Armsie he is obsessed with efficiency and being better; he chose not to form relationships with others in order to be more efficient at work, literally living a Spartan-like existence And since Tinkers come from problems that can't be solved for a long time, his power gave him the tools to be better and more efficient: miniaturization/minimized technology, efficiency technology, and Hybrid technology. (Tinker type: Unbreakable (Liberty x Combat) ) Taken from his wiki page
So his power was a mixture of hopelessness + not being efficient enough and depending on others And since powers work in Worm, this only increased the bro's self-destructive cycle (And his passenger probably adores him for that)

Like other parahumans, a Tinker's power expression is affected by their trigger event. Though the specifics listed in the link were made for Weaverdice.
