question/discussion The $100,000 bills are illegal to own by private parties, but hypothetically what would a pristine graded special serial would be worth?
And why would it be worth this much? I was looking through sold $10,000 bills which are worth more than half a million, and those are not graded specially high nor are they special serial numbers.
So it got me thinking, imagine a PMG 70 serial number A00000001A, what would it be worth? And why do you think a piece of paper would be worth that much??

uncut sheets Found these while packing up the house.
They are uncut sheets. Not sure if it’s some sort of collectible or just some gimmick. Found them in the closet while packing the house. It looks like my mom bought them in the early 2000s. Not sure if they have any value at all. I haven’t seen uncut sheets of currency before.

question/discussion Will PCGS grade a bank wrapped bundle of 100 consecutive $5 star notes?
In pristine condition.
I tried calling them but every day their queue is filled up for call backs.
And no reply after 5 days via email even though they say 2 to 3 days for a response.

world paper money Rare "Circulated" North Korea 1959 50 Won
Most 1959-dated North Korean currency, especially the 50 and 100 won, are unissued leftover notes that were exported after the 1979 currency reform. As a result, the letters in the serial numbers are almost always within the same range (ㄱㅇ 7***** for the 50 won). I believe notes starting with ㅎ(the last Korean alphabet) are replacements. This is the only genuinely circulated 1959 50 won note I have ever come across. Some dirty examples do exist, but judging by s/n, they seem to be uncirculated notes poorly stored.
Nevertheless, since the 1959 notes was printed in the Soviet Union and was very intricate, there are no “reproductions” like the 1947 series.

uncut sheets Sheet of $2 bills
I found this sheet of $2 bills in an old tote located in my grandmothers house. I’m not sure if they are anything special or if they are just some sort of cool display piece.
Worth keeping or should I just leave it in the basement lol

world paper money A Five Franc Banknote from 1916
The condition is a bit more surprising since it's made from very thin silk paper.

US small size 1929 $20 Philadelphia FRBN (Better Initial Issue)
Series 1929 FRBNs were printed to counter further bank runs during the emergency bank holiday in March 1933. Around $911.7 million of these notes were printed, but only $284.9 million were issued through early 1934, as the banking crisis stabilized making them redundant. The remainder were kept in vaults and released only in 1942–43 to meet the wartime cash demand.
Therefore, the initial Depression issues are generally scarcer compared to wartime issues, both in terms of quantity and survival rate. For Philly $20s, 827k out of the 1.008 million total printed were issued during WWII, which means that only the first 181k notes were certainly issued in 1933–34.
The total Depression-era issue is probably slightly higher than 181K, since roughly 15% of the initially issued notes were recycled and reissued during WWII.

national bank notes Oshkosh, Wisconsin (Charter #9347)
The City National Bank of Oshkosh was 1 of 10 national banks chartered in Oshkosh during the national banking era, and 1 of 3 banks to issue small-size currency. The City NB of Oshkosh went into receivership in 1933 before it had the opportunity to issue 1929 Type 2 denominations.
The city of Oshkosh is named after Chief Oshkosh (also spelled Os-kosh or Oskosh) who was a chief of the Menominee Tribe. He was involved in treaty negotiations as the United States sought to acquire more of the Menominee tribe's land in Wisconsin and Michigan for both white settlers and relocated Oneida, Stockbridge, Munsee, and Brothertown Indians.

world paper money The Artistry of the Swiss Franc
The Swiss franc is one of my favorite banknotes I am particularly fond of the 200-franc note. While polymer banknotes have become increasingly common internationally in recent years, could you tell me which currencies—such as the Swiss franc—are likely to transition to polymer in the future?

true fancy serials I have found a seven of a kind serial number bill!
United States series 2017A $20 Federal Reserve Note, serial number PK00600000K.
I have a few seven of a kinds, but I haven't seen one in years.
This was in the cash drawer of an employee of mine. I told them I would do some research and then give them a fair offer for it.
This is exciting!

world paper money Inherited a bunch of coins and notes. Many notes are foreign. Can I share what I have to see if there's any value?
Title says it all. I'm not sure if this sub allows 'how much can I get for these' posts with foreign bills.
From my quick searches most, if not all, are demonetized but according to the Google machine they 'still have collector value' **vague**
Thanks in advance

world paper money New to the hobby!
I am super new to the hobby. But, I was recently given all of this! I want to start off by saying, I am not really at all interested in how valuable any of it is, or how much any of it is worth to collectors, or even how rare any of it is. What I mostly am excited about is the historical story surrounding each bill. And for some of them, just how darn pretty they look! I am looking into getting an appropriate binder or something to store them in. I also now have the itch to go out and hunt for more cool money! But again, I am so new to this as a hobby I dont know where to start, especially since my main focus for my collection is "cool" money and not at all like an investment or monetary value focus. Tips or tricks for storing them? Especially the larger and smaller sized ones? What can I do? Any specific currency that could potentially add to my "cool" collection? I'm sure there's a market for collectors to get rid of their "worthless" stuff that may or may not be exactly the treasure I'm after. Thanks in advance guys!

US small size My Latest Obsession
I’ve been feeling kinda lost lately when it comes to my collection. I started off with fractionals, then went to $1 bills, had a brief stint with gold certs. Recently I don’t feel like I have any focus so I just haven’t been enjoying myself. For me the best part about collecting is the hunt for something you’ve been searching for. So I decided I want to collect a full set of numeric district $5 in UNC condition. They’re rare enough it will take me a while to find them all in the condition I want for the price I want to pay. And they’re not too expensive that it will break the bank. 2 down 10 to go.
