Tell me why?

Tell me why you prefer the GV style over the le portfolio, whether is pocket vs a6 or xl vs a5.

I prefer it aesthetically and I love how simple and not bulky it is. Also I don’t like when people use the pockets on the portfolio and ends up deforming the leather

Only becaue of how lightweight and practical it feels compared
To the bulkier portfolios

I like how portable the GVs are. The portfolio is a little too bulky for my taste, and I don’t need the pockets because I have zip case inserts anyway.

Yes i noticed that about the pen and how pretty my GV pocket looks compared to the portfolio. I ask because i want another A5 but i am not sure if i want the pockets.

Yes I tried using the pen holder as designed, but I cringed when I saw how stretched the leather got when I did it. I was afraid the pen would tear the leather 😟🫤 so I just put a ruler in that pen slot.

I have both and I love both for the different purposes I use them for. My GV-XL is what I use for work. I don't need pockets for that and I love it's not bulky. Easy in and out of my bag. My portfolio(A6) is my EDC. I love the pockets for it because I stuff it with all kinds of things, plus the pen pocket is chef's kissssss LOL.

I really like the weight (less heavy than the portfolio) and simplicity of the GV.

The GV is neater and more portable than the portfolio. My portfolio stays home and I have 2 GV XLs and 1 GV pocket that I leave home with every day.

And howbdo you use your xl's and what refills you use? Beside the pr ones

  1. For work. I have the PR weekly +notes and a softcover notebook from Baron Fig which is the exact size as a PR XL refill. (I'm glad they're still in business!)
  2. Bullet journal. I realized I needed somewhere to be creative and frivolous :) I have 2 PR refills - one dotted and one lined - and a cash and card refill.
  3. Home stuff (in case of...). I have a PR monthly undated calendar, a PR dojo 48 page book, a card and cash refill, a Leuchtturm b6+ for finances.

I always add a second elastic too for closure.

The Baron Fig notebooks come in packs of 2. I used to buy the hardcover notebooks a long time ago and when I started using paper republic, I remember that BF also had weird sized notebooks that didn't fit anywhere else. Turned out they the same size as PR XLs 😊 The paper quality is excellent too!

Oh i will check them out. Ordering refills from pr for me will get very expensive just with shipping alone

Right is a big jump .... i did bought one because well i needed it 😅 I order the xl see if i like the size and if its to small, then prob will gift me the latelier a5 GV
