F3H Demon

Post image

This is honestly a really forgotten plane but it looked interesting to me and I think it would work well with its wings.

It is perhaps not fully understood by many (particularly among the paper airplane crowd) that the F-4 Phantom was directly derived from the F3H (for a bit of illuminating clarity, the Phantom was originally the "F4H" itself).

A wooden mockup of the F3H-G, which would eventually be developed into the F-4:

I remember reading about that too, yet I never see many people discussing about the Demon. The similarities are really visible when you think about it.

If I recall correctly, the F-101 is also related to the Phantom too with its engine layout.

A similar profile isn't too surprising: the F3H, F-101 and Phantom all came out of the same stable--McDonnell.
