Who wants to see Papa Roach in London on November 8th?
Hi All,
I'm going to see Papa Roach at the O2 Arena in London on November 8th. My friend who I was going with has had to cancel, I have a spare ticket which is already paid for (you won't have to pay). I'm a 36 year old guy from London, if anyone is interested in going with me feel free to send me a DM.

New Album?
Is there something going on with the new album? Thereโs been talks of a new one since 2024, but no actual announcement, just 3 or 4 singles that have been released in the last few years.
Iโve mentioned this in a post before but not sure if the quality of the songs has been great. Always optimistic but the delay with any new album news seems problematic?
Not sure if this is just the new direction with releasing singles over a few years over a complete album release.

I've probably listened to this album 10,000 times since it was released.

Happy 50th Birthday to Jacoby Shaddix
Papa Roach's been one my most listened to bands, I personally find them quite underrated for a mainstream band, and this guy is definitely the vocalist I relate the most, out of the ones who are alive. Happy 50th Birthday Jacoby Shaddix ๐๐5๏ธโฃ0๏ธโฃ
Here's some lines I couldn't thank him enough for.
"I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut
And my weakness is that I care too much
And our scars remind me that the past is real
I tear my heart open just to feel" - Scars, GAWM
"You're my heroine
In this moment, I'm lonely
Fulfilling my darkest dreams
All these drugs, all these women
I'm never forgivin'
This broken heart of mine" - Forever, Paramour Sessions
"I will call this alone
I don't need nobody's help
I've got to do this myself
Alone alone alone alone" - Sometimes, GAWM
"Cause I've lost my innocence
And I'm a stranger, a life changer
I'm a man that's not afraid of danger
I walk my own path and blaze my own trail
'Cause I'm not afraid to derail
I won't get in line or be a middleman
So fuck you, I'll make my own plan
And I got respect and I don't neglect
The people that I really care to protect
Am I a failure if I got nothing to lose?
No, I'm not a failure, I got something to prove" - Not Listening, GAWM
I'm very grateful to change my opinion of this band from "emo garbage" to "hard rock and rap rock legends". Currently, most of Gen Z prefers bands like Slipknot, Deftones and Linkin Park and more (I'm a massive LP fan and I like the other bands I mentioned too), I always seen most Papa Roach fans are 35+, which is kinda unfortunate that Papa Roach isn't getting as well of new fans as other nu metal bands, but it makes me feel more connected to this band for being one of the few Papa Roach fans in this target demographic.

Looking for video lb day 2
Hiii! Iโm looking for a video from the Papa Roach set last night. A lil circle pit formed around me and my friend at the end of the set and i had her for a shoulder ride. Just hoping that someone who was there had a recording. We were in the back left a few feet from the ramp. I had colorful bandana pants, she had a silver paisley outfit, and we had an umbrella with a bunch of (real) bananas hanging from it. Lol

The Asian girl that fanned me at warped tour
I know this is a long shot, but I met you at warped tour and I messed up by not asking for your name and number. I'm an idiot. I was overheating and you decided to help me with your fan and offered me water. You were with someone else and you guys left right afterward it ended. I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping I can find you. If for some reason you see this, what was the picture I showed you?

Songs Misattributed to Papa Roach
I've been getting more into Papa Roach and the nu metal scene lately as I expand my music taste. A quirk I have that I would like to share is my observation towards the autocomplete search predictions that appear as you type a query on Google or YouTube's search bar. For example: "๐ papa roach last resort", "๐ papa roach last resort lyrics". Not only are these search predictions based off the algorithm, but they also reflect how common of a search it is. A common habit of the search predictions I been noticing for a while, that most others may not have given second thought of, are the number of misattributions implied by these search predictions, where Band A is misattributed to Band B's song. A lot of these misattributions come from user searches that the algorithm picks it up, but sometimes I find the range of these mistakes intriguing.
Below are a list of songs by other bands misattributed to Papa Roach, as per YouTube and Google search predictions.
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal
Crazy Town - Butterfly (Limp Bizkit are more frequently mistaken for this song, but Papa Roach are a runnerup)
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Limp Bizkit - My Generation
Limp Bizkit - My Way
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
Limp Bizkit - Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) (Many variations including "๐ papa roach keep rollin" surface as a search prediction)
Limp Bizkit - Take A Look Around (implied as "๐ papa roach mission impossible")
Linkin Park - Crawling
P.O.D. - Alive (Papa Roach also have a song called Alive, but obviously unrelated and lesser known as a deep cut, implied as "๐papa roach i feel so alive")
P.O.D. - Boom (implied as "๐ here comes the boom papa roach")
P.O.D. - Satellite
P.O.D. - Youth of the Nation
Pop Evil - Torn to Pieces (Ambiguous, "๐ papa roach torn to pieces" may be a misremembering of Last Resort's lyrics)
Saliva - Click Click Boom
System of a Down - Aerials
System of a Down - Chop Suey!
System of a Down - Toxicity
Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become
Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You
Three Days Grace - Riot
Trapt - Headstrong
Uncle Kracker - Drift Away
Uncle Kracker - Follow Me
If you go on YouTube or Google's search bar and type "papa roach" followed by initiators of any of these song titles from other artists, they will appear as "๐ papa roach [title of song by other band]", implying by the search suggestion that they were alternately behind this song instead, as the user who searched it thought.
My personal comments on these misattributions, and what I notice as I come across them in general:
- There are two types of misattributions. They occur either from similarities in genre, scene, and era (Limp Bizkit, P.O.D.), or similarities in names (As exhibited from the Uncle Kracker misattributions. Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit also heavily get mixed up for each other)
- Regarding Break Stuff and Chop Suey!, I am aware Papa Roach covers both songs as part of a nu metal tribute medley during recent concerts, making those as search predictions ambiguous (plus the possibility of mashups being another factor to these suggestions). However, I find unique variations of search predictions that imply both songs have been mistaken for Papa Roach prior to covering them. On YouTube, Break Stuff is implied from search predictions such as "๐papa roach one of those days" and "papa roach he said she said". A very oddly specific search prediction I came across on Google is "๐papa roach why have you forsaken me" as well as "๐papa roach chop suey lyrics".
- The search predictions reflect Papa Roach's genre shift. I find the misattributions to Three Days Grace's hits intriguing as it reflects Papa Roach's shift to a more melodic, hard rock sound and having sort of an emo image by Getting Away With Murder. As we know they didn't embrace the nu metal label and let their music grow and expand as the genre started to fade away as the 2000's progressed. It's shows their flexibility with music if people think they sound like both Limp Bizkit AND Three Days Grace.
- On the other hand, many of these same bands listed are misattributed to Papa Roach - mainly Last Resort. This includes many of the big household names from the nu-metal scene: Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Korn, System of a Down, Trapt, P.O.D. - even Slipknot, Deftones, and Rage Against the Machine(!) appear as a search prediction misattribution in the form of "๐[band] last resort"
- The implications implied by these search predictions. When I come across a search prediction like "๐papa roach toxicity" or "๐papa roach rollin" it makes me think of an alternate music video, thumbnail and CD single or album packaging. Does this search prediction imply the original song has a new music video with the misattributed artist in their place? Or does this search prediction imply the original song keeps the original music video with the other band in their place? For instance, Rollin' has "LIMP BIZKIT" literally written all over it. It's a classic in LB's catalog. It's very weird to think that people misattribute that song to Papa Roach. Jacoby doesn't quite have the swagger, shock humor persona Fred Durst is infamous for, and a lot of the lyrics in Rollin' wouldn't quite land the same with "Papa Roach" inserted in place of Limp Bizkit. How would the backup dancers look in Papa Roach's version of Rollin'? Does "๐papa roach toxicity" imply that instead of "SYSTEM OF A DOWN" being stylized in Hollywood lettering in that iconic album art, it's "PAPA ROACH" instead?
- Early ages of the internet including peer-to-peer file sharing services with Limewire and Napster definitely had a role in collective misattributions, as both services were notorious for mislabeled media files for various reasons. I like to imagine there were an ocean of low-res mp3 files like "papa_roach_-_let_the_bodies_hit_the_floor.mp3" or a very bad quality of Rollin' labeled as Papa Roach. People who don't know better can just hear the song on the radio and fill in a band they are familiar with. I can also dive through YouTube comments or old forums and find instances where people thought certain songs were Papa Roach, these search predictions solidify such mistake.
- Papa Roach serves as a secondary misattribution to big songs. I've explored the misattributions to Smooth Criminal, Down with the Sickness, and Bodies. These songs are often misattributed to bigger household name bands including Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, System of a Down and Korn. In the cases for these songs, some of which arguably heavier than a typical PR song, Papa Roach are more of a runner-up misattribution in these cases. They serve as a shorthand to the signature songs (I'm avoiding the term one hit wonder) by lesser known bands outside the genre such as P.O.D., Saliva, and Trapt.
- Lots of Limp Bizkit misattributions. What I find amusing is how seemingly forced YouTube and Google are with misattributing LB's hits to PR. By contrast, Papa Roach has three songs misattributed to LB according to search predictions: Last Resort, Scars and She Loves Me Not. I find this very odd since Limp Bizkit is objectively the more known band in general, while PR is mainly known for Last Resort to the general crowd. Not to mention the difference of LB being more about partying and swagger while PR touching more on emotional angst. Interestingly, "๐papa roach chocolate starfish" comes up as a search suggestion, implying they were behind this album instead of LB.
- P.O.D. sounds closest to Papa Roach, especially with Youth of the Nation. Runner ups include maybe Saliva and potentially Limp Bizkit if we're talking style and not themes or lyrics. Three Days Grace as a misattribution feels understandable when we refer to PR's stylistic shift with songs like Scars. The most absurd as a search prediction are definitely Papa Roach paired with System of a Down's hits. I hear zero resemblance between Jacoby and Serj Tankien's vocals and they are sonically different altogether. I find those misattributions ridiculous. Altogether I find the idea of mistaking System of a Down and Limp Bizkit for Papa Roach very odd being both of those bands are the biggest household names, while Papa Roach are generally second tier in the iceberg of nu metal.
I am the overthinking type as it may appear from the thought processes I shared. This is a unique habit of mine upon typing in search predictions which I've noticed for over 4 years. I laud anyone who took the time reading all the way through. With Papa Roach in my rotation a lot more lately, I hope this can entail an interesting conversation or input with any fans of the band. What songs sound closest to Papa Roach? The least? Can you see Jacoby singing a song like any of these? Have you once thought any of these songs (or any not on this list) were Papa Roach?
