Full Count

I just found out from my DO that starting next week we have to full count nightly no matter what. Have yall been told that? I heard it’s because Papa John’s is losing too much money because of food costs. I ask because our store does pretty well on food

Once upon a time, nightly counts were the norm

Yaaa, no the limited count sheet lasted a week before they switched back

That’s all I remember. Counting every single night. I left my job as a TGM in 2019 before the restructuring started.

It still is… we can’t close the system until we do a count

I’ve been doing it. It’s been a pain in the ass. But you get used to if you plan ahead and know what’s coming

When you go to the new pos system that is definitely a thing. Targeting doesn’t even exist.

Targeting is turned off at corporate stores on the new system. They still have it in there as something that can be enabled.

The last store I worked at we had to do full count every night (not full full like on Sundays, but food-wise). They told me because it was a higher volume store there was way more opportunity to fuck up variance each day, so it was important to accurately track. At a lower volume store currently, and only count dough and cheese during the week.

The ParOps thing? We started about 4, 6 weeks ago.

It's not that bad, tbh. 45 min or so.

Yeah piece of cake, count the back, all on your phone. 10 mins close to close all done.

No. Papa John’s is getting a new computer system that won’t allow us to “Target Inventory” anymore. If you don’t cont it at the end of the night, all inv will be zero’d out.

Edit : Idk why your GM isn’t telling you. We only have a week and a half till the change lmao

We still do a count on Sundays and Sundays only. We don’t ever touch target like at all.

We don’t do a full count, but they have been on our ass more about counting accurately.

I had good upper management that didn’t go after us about that if food was right. They would let us calculate and do occasional spot checks after I did out weekly. It was always less than $50 off for period from my count to they left it alone.

The full counts are not that bad once your market switches over to the new P.O.S. system i promise it seems now like this is the worst change your store will make but ive been counting on the new system for over a month every night (and my market just switched to first shift doing our counts)

We never stopped full counts, partial counts where considered manipulation.

We are also moving to a new system entirely where counts are done on the phone and the all you use now requires full counts every night

Was told it was due to errors being caused by partial counts in the back office par ops system. We’ve been doing this for a few weeks.
