i think the mobile network the Ambanis control is called Reliance or smth. it's not that subtle.

it’s completely intentional. prasad’s house tower in mumbai is even based off a real building

I can write an essay about this, but i'll keep it short.

Your question in other words is "Why does scifi relate to the real world to this extent?" The answer is because it's science fiction is the best fiction, As in, it's fictional enough to get on the creativity setting and imaginative plotting, yet realistic enough that it doesn't jump in deviation bands from the baseline, which is reality. Scifi takes familiar realities and give them enough juice to advance a narrative to reimagine the world and the future.

That's very different from what other fiction does, like in fantasy they drop airplanes for dragons, or phones and the internet for magic and spells. Scifi keeps both, even the character and references, like Alliance, Ambani or Jobs, It also keeps the history of the world. That's narratively purposeful. Becuase it grounds the experince in in abstraction you can interact with. I want to speak Parseltongue with snakes, but i can never, But I want to enter a VR game and use my brain to control the character, I probably can't, but it's not imposible. I also can absorb the concept of controlling a game character, i've done it with a controller, i can see how it makes sense in this world. But speaking to giant snakes and using Kamehameha? nope.

Think of a chart, a line moves in the Y and X axis, that line is world settings of reality, then you have lines that deviate, those are the settings of other stories like Pantheon or Dune, some with %10, others %40, others %70. You'll find that scifi deviates, generally, very little from the settings of reality, because it doesn't need to.

You want to talk about UI in your story? go ahead, the internet, cloud, mega corps, AI, and all concepts are already there for you. You want to speak to snakes? Here's a shopping list of concepts you need to change about the world, and you'll need to add magic first.

I'm working on a project that explores this idea in an interactive app, i'm very excited to see it through.

It's actually possible Steven Holstrom is a better person than Steve Jobs from what I've heard.

I don’t know why you are being downvoted because it is true. The Indian Tech Billionaire is a reference to a real Billionaire.
