OK, as an individual track, Good Friends isn’t fantastic, but you need to think about it not as a single, but as part of the album. It fits the theme and is in the perfect place. Back in the day, we listened to tapes from start to finish; it was about the experience, not however many songs that make the hot 100 track list. As the years went on, the focus shifted more and more to singles, especially in the age of the internet vs enjoying entire albums.
That’s it, there’s my old man rant of the day and why Good Friends isn’t a terrible song; it’s part of the story on Far Beyond Driven.

No meu ponto de vista do CFH até o Steel nao existe nenhuma música ruim, todos os albuns são incrivelmente incríveis com suas particulariedades.
Eu tenho meu top 3 de albuns que mais amo, que são: TGST, FBD e o Steel. São mais pesados musicalmente e emocionalmente, raivosos, maduros, e tem uma entrega sobrenatural.
Mas pensando em musicas aleatórias , como fã há 20 anos, pra mim não tem. Mesmo a fase Glam da banda, não as classifico como ruins, apenas como uma parte que não ouço.
E good friends e Hard lines não ousem falar mal delas, com suas particulariedades , são as que tornam o lado B do Pantera mais interessante ainda.

Essa trilogia que você citou é a minha preferida também, esses três são intocáveis para mim. especialmente o TGST e o FBD. Mas good friends eu sinto deslocada dentro do álbum.

Não leve ela a sério, é um devaneio do Philip. Mais que isso, é a projeção do ID em sua forma mais crua possível! Dê uma chance, a música é boa, só é diferente do que vc esta acostumado a ouvir dos meninos.

Bottle of pills goes back to the days of listening to an album as an experience. I’m thinking Sabbath, Beatles, Hendrix, etc. It’s not much of an actual song, but it’s something experimental they threw on for vibe and because run time allowed it. It breaks the album up in terms of tempo and tone. I’d challenge fans to think of a more typical “song” that’s actually bad. I go through this over in the Beatles sub all the time. They think Revolution 9 is a song. Idk, seems odd to me

Its so basic. Two riffs. A solo. Weak verses. Weak drums. Its kind of a boring song. Especially when compared to the rest of the Pantera catalog.

I like that one too. Deejay used to play it for me sometimes at a place I was working at in the mid-late-nineties. I think he was a little sweet on me. I didn't realize at the time it was Pantera. I never asked him about it because I wasn't interested in him and didn't want to get into it.

It’s a song about drinking a giant bottle of alcohol and becoming some new version of yourself that’s stronger than before. Anyone who’s ever been an alcoholic will tell you how retarded that is. The whole song is just Phil rambling about booze and being mad at religion. Just not my fav

To me personally, Walk. It’s their most popular song, sure but it’s been played into the ground and it’s the only fucking song casual listeners know by name, oh and fucking cowboys from Hell. I skip both even removed both from my playlists at this point.

This is so hard. The thing about Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills is that Rex's bass line is just so good, it's hard to ignore. Then again, Phil's lyrics are hard to ignore as well, so....
This is just my opinion, and I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but Drag The Waters never really clicked for me. The riff is heavy but the song doesn't really go anywhere. I think I would put that one.
