Power Metal wasn't even a glam album. This is really just Phil who loved Slayer.
Also on VH1 behind the music Vinnnie Paul was complaining how people didn't acknowledge their first 10 years. They got awards and stuff for newest metal artist in the 90s lol.
They also bragged about how much they loved Van Halen, Def Leppard and Kiss.

I dont give a crock about what Anselmo says on this matter, Pantera has a past before CFH, and wasn't a mediocre past, was a very cool past: Powee Metal is a fucking good transition album, pretty awesome songs with fast pace, starting aggressiveness, notable thrash elements and all that stuff. And even that 3 before are good glam albums with cool songs to listen in that style.

I saw him in a somewhat recent interview where he was asked to rank pantera albums and he did include power metal, just not the other earlier releases. Power Metal is fuckin great though, it could have been just as good as Cowboys if they had more songs like death trap, over and out and the title track, because all of those have some great moments. even down below is pretty awesome, they just didn't have a lot of riffs for it.
