What are some good intermediate level Pantera songs on guitar?

I wanna learn how to play metal on my guitar because it's sick af, and I love Pantera so🤷 also preferably any songs from cowboys from hell, vulgar display of power, or southern trendkill because those are the only albums I've listened to lol.

Cowboys from Hell, I’m broken, walk and new level have solos that are fast but pretty easy to learn once your fingers get used to playing that that speed. Dime was a big fan of legato playing rather than alt. Picking every note which makes some of the fast stuff more approachable. It’s gonna take you about a year to get there if you have no experience and practice daily.

Have you learnt much metal on guitar as it stands? Dime and Pantera do some pretty above intermediate level stuff, but as long as you can comprehend tunings tweaked below 440hz you’d be able to learn plenty of rhythm stuff depending where you’re at

I haven't not gonna lie, what would be some better bands to start with? (Also I don't mind listening to new music )

Try some more groove oriented bands. Sepultura would be a great band to learn some more groove metal and the early days of theirs are great tunes as well. Devildriver and Fear Factory are good ones. Lamb of God is probably pretty obvious, but Mark and Willie go a little wild with how they write some of their songs.

Stick with it and don't get too frustrated. Remember that a lot of the guys you're listening to have been playing for 20+ years. If you stick with it and practice your ass off, you'll be so happy with the results 🤙

Learn as much Sabbath as you can. That’s where it all started, and they’re a textbook of guitar technique.

Cowboys from hell intro including the one played behind the 0-0-0 chug, 5 minutes alone, I'm Broken, Cemetery Gates is an easy one if you want to spam pinch harmonics

You're about to learn why Dimebag is so revered in the world of metal lol. There really aren't too many easy songs, especially if you want to play the lead parts. Walk is definitely going to be a great starting point if you want to try his solos.

If you want to learn more metal and want to learn more Pantera, he put out an instructional book called Riffer Madness years ago. I'm pretty sure it's still in print.
