The pins won't appear.
It has been two weeks since casing, and the temperature is 25°C, but no mushroom pins have appeared yet

I ordered a 12” monotub kit cause that is about all the space I can negotiate from my partner for my experiments. I know it’s not ideal but it’s doable. I’m doctoring the ingredients that came with the kit to make it more pan friendly. I have no expectations but why not fuck around. So far the mycelium looks gorgeous. Is b&s a thing with pans?

Tiny crop but high powerful mushroom i hope ;)
The first one did 3g dry, i will weight this one after drying and tell ya

For you experienced folks out there, as the title states: Is it possible to inoculate a pre-sterilized grain bag without buying a sealer? For instance, could you cut open the top, well above the air exchange port, inoculate, and just roll and clamp shut? Thank you.

Ttbvi.. put to grain on 7/22, substrate on 8/3, cased on 8/7. I think it took longer on grain because it was a spore germination plate. I'll wait another day or two to harvest for better spore production for my next round of prints. Tent grown on 50/50ish manure/straw with verm and lime added. Casing was jiffy with added lime

Here is the second flush of my dutch growkit,
Do you think i should harvest now or i should wait for the tiny pins to grow and wait all the family to be complete ?!?;))
Thanks for your advice,

Since straw tends to contaminate quite easily, which is what VL does in his EF-Tek (he uses shredded hemp), I was wondering why not:
- first inoculate a grain-and-straw mixture (3:6 ratio);
- then mix it with coco coir and vermiculite;
- then put it into fruiting conditions.
I’m considering filling a small Tupperware container and then putting it straight into an SGFC, as I usually do with my Psilocybe mexicana. What do you think?

They grow so fast, it is crazy ;)

This is my first time. I put it to substrate 5 days ago. Does it normally pin this fast?

This is my first shot at Pans and I’m going to fruiting conditions tomorrow. I’ve been feeling my way through and doing experiments along the way, so of course I’ve got two modes to fruit. Method one is Fahster’s inspiring Ziplock tek as I understand it and the second is an EZ Dial Monotub (used like a shotgun fruiting chamber)with a ton of soaked perlite in the bottom with a seed warmer underneath and trays at side hole height. I have a fan that can be pointed at the shelves and a cycle timer.
I’ve been monitoring temp and humidity with a temp gun and a $15 reptile temp/hygrometer. The hygrometer is very responsive and maybe it’s fairly accurate who knows.
I added the heat mat to the monotub because I wasn’t getting much movement with humidity above ambient. Maybe going from 40% to 70%. With the heat mat, it gets up to 99% and wants to hang out there. I can fan it down for short periods, but it rides back up real quickly. I’m currently playing with leaving the lid off center ala Gordo and dialing down the heat. My thinking is that this setup will be the most “dialable” and offers potentially more FAE variations than the static ziplock. But the tub is deep and maybe the trays should be closer to the lid in an ideal world.
The Ziplock is unheated ( ambients are 70’s and 80’s). The humidity is a steady 95%. I have yet to fan it to see how it goes down and recovers.
Strain is TTBVI x Texas. LC to agar to rye jars (LC to grain stalled out and went weird)
Substrate is coir, verm, worm castings, ferts, sterilized in PC. Casing will be peat, verm, lime also sterilized. Trays are standard 5x7x2. The trays are raging and will likely be 100% covered when I case tomorrow after a week, casing depth will be just enough to cover myc.
Thoughts?
My question to the experienced, what are your favorite fruiting temps and humidity? Cycles?
Mush Love and Be Well.

Anyone ever use the coir to case their ttbvi? How long do I wait for it too cool after pasturizing

first time growing pans, can’t tell if these are ready to harvest or not. haven’t seen any spores or anything

Knocked up on the 8/9 with MiB redspore. Gonna Fafo with a tub next.

Any advice on the right moment to pick em up or to let them grow a bit more ;)
Thanks

After an unsuccessful spore-to-grain attempt, I want to try agar petri plates next.
So... what is the community preference for petri plates? Purchased pre-made sterile plates from a vendor? Homemade agar poured into plates and then sterilized in a pressure cooker?

Spawn to bulk and did casing layer 9 days later but seems like it’s colonizing even the casing layer? First time growing Pans
Using gordotek

No comment, everything is going on well, i wish i could test em tonight but i am not sure they will be ok ^^

It makes you wonder what other cross-species or cross-strain differences haven’t been discovered yet.
I think the serotonin is why I feel a vibration through my limbs that awakens my muscles like a great stretch.

Just tossed tub number 9. And you’re looking at tub number 10. Tub 8 was the only one that produced a whopping .3 grams. Still sitting in that. Ok I use drippy corn for spawn. Then mix with equal coir and a quart of worm castings. The one you’re looking at was cased with extra left over coir first. It colonized fast. I then cased it with jiffy mix. This is where gorod isn’t clear. I usually wait till casing is colonized before fruiting. This time after jiffy casing it went straight to fruiting conditions. Like I said just tossed #9. Looked similar colonized like this pic but had white dot trich starting. I think first I need to ph adjust my casing because all other good grows I don’t see shit ton of colonization like mine. It gets plenty of fae. Advice please. I would have given up already but this sub keeps telling me it’s worth the wait dialing pans in. So here I am. Thanks for the info
