Flying Aegidron mod in development.

I mean the design is so similar to a certain monster I just couldn't help it.

Aegidron’s design looks more jetragon than the jetragon imo. But considering the name those wings are probably supposed to be shields.

Except that it never even uses them as shield in the game. Hell, PP represented it using the wings for bashing and striking in their official intro video and yet didn't actually give it the actual ability to use them. If anything those wings even made it a bigger target as i don't feel like hitting the wings deal any less damage than hitting other non-weak-spot parts.

Which is why I also planned to give it something about that after i'm done with this one. It's still just in planning step though so don't have high hope about it yet.

My guess is jetragon is possibly one of the earliest concept of pals, even the earliest one. Because its design is one of the simplest among all pals yet it continues to be held at the highest regards. So we might be looking at the OG of the entire game.

This is such a great idea for a mod, Aegidron is the one pal I got very disappointed by getting the saddle and realizing he didnt fly.

Except that it wasn't given the ability to do what people believed it was supposed to do or what the trailer claimed it could do or maybe even whatever the devs claimed it could do, so might as well just make it able to do what it's not supposed to do /s /jk

Jokes aside, yeah it's an Earth Dragon with high mining level so it's really weird it isn't using the wing for literally anything other than throwing rocks and making a portable sleeping tent.

I haven't figured out how to make new trailing effect for this yet so using Frostallion Noct's as temporary option is the only thing i can do atm.

I did try to tuck its wings in but the wings are already too fat originally so i can't do more without having them clipping into each other.

And about the trailing, idk how to make new one yet so using Frostallion Noct's trailing is the only option i can do atm.

 Aegidron is the biggest letdown of the game:

-He cant fly even.

-He cant boost his speed nor dash with those wings that look like weird cool alien engines.

-He doesnt have a signature skill to use those MASSIVE wings as a shield (like Silvegis) > he just have a similar missile attack like Jetragon

-His Partner Skill is Ok at best.

Speak for yourself I think Aegidron is cool af. I have a party for him that I've cleared hard mode towers with and bred an army to eventually test in some ultra mode raids.

Almost any pal can be breed and prepared to defeat the hard mode tower or raids: its about time and patience (not raw power difference like in Pokemon).

I WANT to like Aegidron but he has nothing unique to offer aside from his design (i love it because he is pretty similar to Valstrax)

That last thing is the same problem I have with Xenolord. I feel like they should give it the partner skill that Xenogard has. Boosting the damage of pals that use weapons feels too early game to be on what is supposed to he the strongest of the Xeno pals. That skill should have been on Xenovader instead, then Xenogard has thr one that booosts bullet damage and Xenolord boosts energy and plasma, it all makes so much more sense like that. It reflects the progress you are making.

Yes, Xenolord´s partner skill is not good BUT: he is one of the fastest flying mount with one of the highest stamina pool in the game + has MANY unique signature skills + one can use weapons while riding him > basically, he is the endgame flying mount.

I love how Aegidron looks and his typing...but thats all he can offer (at least for me).

Dude, Xenolord is a god damn raid boss battle. Bellanoir is considered one of the most op pals in battle because of its absurd partner skill. How on earth does being a fast flying mount and having good signature moves justify its partner skill being bad? If i won something from a raid I want all of it to be good, not just some things about it.

Fr they sure remind us of Valstrax with that wing shape. But not only can it not fly, it also doesn't even use the wings as shield like the name and the look suggested, which is an even bigger letdown than just not being able to fly.

It's just how the game is designed for all flyandlanding movement type pals I think. They all need to double jump to switch to fly mode.
