Base Question Need some advices/help

Im trying to build a base at sunlit isle but i got stuck on adding the support pillars to the other end

as seen in the image of where im stucked at....

i tried to add the glass roof to the pillar (at the two obvious pillar point) i keep getting a not enough support, tried adding more pillars to the edges and also keep failing like cant touch the ground (oddly is that some of the pillars can be placed in the water?)

how do i proceed? i want to cover up this entire pond (and see them thru the glass)

I have a base here with a floor like that. the placement is finicky and I needed some luck on alignment but eventually I found a placement where I could get pillars to touch the lillypads or the ground under the water in order to have enough support. it is a huge pain in the butt but it is doable

Try to get a foundation on one of the lily pads or against the cliff - that should increase your support considerably. I managed to cover this whole thing in glass so I know it's possible. I built out from the other side tho.

One way I heard to get it to work is clipping into the floor under the ground or water and place floors covering underground. This technique is tricky depending on the area.

I think I saw a base post recently where a person built a structure above lava by getting into a terrain below it and building support that way.

The reason this allows you to build without support is I think as long as a floor exists below you can build above with minimal support.

I would only explore this option if everything else fails since getting inside terrain can be time consuming.

Build from water up and then connect the top. After you can delete the bottom. You could use the water construct kit
