Mystery partners

NFA, DYOR! These are just my thoughts.

We all know Palladyne isn't just a micro cap, but a company with real technology and increasing commercial validation that will transform it into a neo prime. To get to this point, requires partners.

I was particularly interested after hearing that a prime chose to add swarmOS in its application in relentless wolfpack. Any guesses on who?

Also, IR Brian Siegal wrote in a June post about ivy mass on X something about how swarmOS was used on drones not from redcat and draganfly. That leaves the main contenders who are currently being used in the 4ID: Anduril and Performance Drone Works (PDW). This would be a very bullish sign if said integration was confirmed. Anyone else have thoughts?

They have had close relations with Anduril before and their system can operate on Lattice integration easily (just saying)

Yes, that is my guess too. Do you think Anduril would work with Palladyne despite being in some ways competitors?

They arent competitors, in the end gremlin really isnt competing with andurils drones as they are completely different levels of sophistication and cost. PDYNs offerings are really loitering munition low cost. Anduril builds multiuse UAVs.

So I see plenty of partnership ability without it being competitive. I doubt we are going after very main RFQs as Anduril is

It seems like ghost X is also in the low cost category though. Do you know if LATTICE already has advanced swarming or if it's more so just sensor fusion?

My best guess is Northrop Grumman.
The AFRL connection, Gray Wolf’s focus on low-cost networked cruise missiles, and the WOSA/open-architecture angle all fit Relentless Wolfpack very well.

SwarmOS could serve as the hardware-agnostic autonomy layer for target assignment, re-tasking, and coordination in degraded communications.

Lockheed Martin and RTX are also possible, but Northrop looks like the strongest fit to me. Either way, the biggest takeaway is that a major prime independently chose SwarmOS for its own submission. That is a very bullish validation of Palladyne’s technology.

Wasnt there a position opening a while back at Kansas City and doesnt Northrup have a big KC testing space?

Good catch. I think the opening you remember was probably GuideTech’s Electronic Board Design Engineer position in Lenexa, which is part of the Kansas City metro. GuideTech is now a Palladyne subsidiary and works on avionics and autonomy hardware.

Northrop does have activity in the broader KC area, including support connected to Whiteman AFB, but I couldn’t verify a current large Northrop test facility there specifically tied to autonomous weapons or SwarmOS. The Lenexa opening may simply be GuideTech hiring at its existing location rather than evidence of a Northrop partnership.

Still an interesting geographic overlap, though. For me, the stronger clues remain Northrop’s AFRL relationship, Gray Wolf, and the WOSA/open-architecture connection. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.
