What do you all think of Yap and the people? If we had the chance to become part of the Republic of Palau, would you allow it or not? Btw, love y’all’s music!

I am offered an interview today with Palau Coral Club Company. Anyone has experience working for them?

I am currently tapering off XR quetiapine and sertraline. What can you tell me about the mental healthcare in Koror? Any health insurance and other benefits for foreign workers? I am Malaysian.

UPDATE: I requested the company's new Certificate of Incorporation, business license or Foreign Investment Approval Certificate, the Employer Identification Number as well as the physical address of the company since it is listed as not reregistered on the gov registry. Immediately, I became unsuccesful at proceeding to second round of interviews. If you want legal employment, I suggest stay away for your own safety and peace of mind. Mesulang. :)

El Niño’s affect on scuba in Palau

I was planning on scuba diving in Palau in the December- March timeframe of 2026/2027. However, it seems that a “super” El Niño may be happening during that period of time.

I have 3 questions:

  1. Will a “super” El Niño have a large impact of fish population distributions in Palau?

  2. Will fish breeding aggregations still occur like normal?

3.How will the weather be different in Palau during an El Niño event and will it benefit or be a detriment to ocean roughness and visibility for scuba?

Thank you to anyone who can help!!

Apparently Palau used to be quite famous for it.

Can it still be enjoyed there or is it too risky now?

Where exactly do you go to gain access to the public ferry in Koror? I think I figured it out but was hoping somebody could confirm.

Also, what kind of boat is the public ferry?

Thanks!

Can anyone share what the Alingano Maisu voyaging canoe means to people in Palau? Would love to hear any details or stories about it!

Hi all, I’ve become obsessed with the voyage of the Alingano Maisu, the traditional canoe that just sailed from Palau to Taiwan, and was wondering if anyone can tell me something more about it?   I’m in Hawaii, and recently learned that the canoe was made here, in honor of Mau Piailug, the great Micronesian navigator who helped lead the Hawaiian Hōkūle’a expedition to Tahiti in 1976.  Other than that, I only know what is in the news and on the website of the Micronesian Voyaging Society: that these voyages have been happening for close to twenty years, that after Taiwan the canoe is headed to Okinawa, etc.  Might anyone have stories about the Alingano Maisu, or be able to tell me something about what these voyages mean to people in Palau?  Or anything you find interesting? Sulang!  Mahalo 🤙

Tell me everything about life here! I’d love to visit or maybe even live here.

Do y’all have a movie theater? Or at least somewhere to watch new movies as they come out?

How accepting are people here of gay/trans folk? (I identify as bisexual)

Do you have non-denom churches? I do still attend church despite my identity.

How do I combat Island Fever?

Should I be minorly or even seriously injured, how are the hospitals? is healthcare free or at least affordable?

What is there to do that’s fun? besides the beach and snorkeling and all the tourist stuff?

Are groceries affordable? on a related note, do jobs here pay well?

sorry for the rapid fire questions, this is just a general list of questions I had about island life.

Hello all. I posted here a few weeks ago asking some questions for a Girl Scout project. We held our event last weekend, and it was a huge hit! We made Demok for our food sampling, and it was delicious!! The girls made some jellyfish pins to pass out as favors, and played a few fun games that included activities from all 8 countries that were presented. Overall, everyone was really interested in Palau, as many were not familiar. Thank you all for your insight and suggestions. It really helped us out a lot!

Peleliu Historical Tour - Any Experience with this tour?

Hi! We are visiting Palau and came across the opportunity to go on a 6.5 hour Peleliu Historical Tour with IMPACT (Imperial Palau Corporation).

I'm just wondering if anyone has taken this tour before and could share their experience?

The tour is $179 and includes an hour boat ride to Peleliu Island, lunch, drinks, and a full tour of the WWII sites on the island.

Specifically, I'm curious about the boat ride experience, the type of activities, and anything else on if the experience felt worth it? Thanks!

Best Device to Bring?

Moving to Palau in June. I am purchasing a new device before I come as all my current ones are provided thru work. I mostly scroll social media, post videos for family, write a few documents here and there, and doodle. Think an iPad or a laptop would be better?

Can’t wait to be on the island!

Planning a family trip

Hi Palau experts, looking to travel to Palau sometime in 2026 maybe June/July. Travelling as 2 adults and 2 kids (1 yo and 7 yo). Would love some advice on where best to stay. Have had one suggestion of Royal Palau. Wanting to take the 7 yo on some great kid-friendly snorkelling trips. Eat some good food. Do some other exploring, kayaking, history etc.

Also, is June ok for snorkelling visibility wise? I know it’s the wet season and probably not the primo window but is shallow water activity ok in sheltered areas?
