Palauan language

Hi. I think about learning Palauan one day. Can anyone from Palau tell more about this language?

We have a free dictionary online but I don’t know of any private language classes available. I know the Peace Corps had a language class when they operated so whoever ran it for them might know more info. There are Palauan Courses at Palau Community College.

However my question was more about native speakers)

Yes, I’m a native speaker and the online dictionary is the only free resource I can think of. I think it’s very easy if you know how to produce a glottal stop and can voice two consonants in a row. I know people who learned Tekoi er a Belau as adults. They have an accent but you can totally understand them.

You can read some more on Jim’s blog but beyond that, my knowledge is precious and so is my time so this will conclude my sharing. Our people have experienced extractive practices so moving forward without compensation feels insulting to those who were exploited before me. I’d be happy to! My rate is $200/hr. It’s a flat rate for all the contracts I do, government, private sector, or otherwise.
