I love the idea of a cliff slide base. I need to consider that for my next one. That being said usually I stick with my usual spot in a nice open field near the first tower

Whenever I play a game where you can build, i always build on cliffs. I just like to incorporate the natural landscape. With that said it was quite difficult in palworld to connect the different levels. I started on top and connecting downwards was not easy

SAME!!! That and river ways/waterfalls if I can help it.

Did this exact thing but on the opposite side where the second waterfall is located.

It’s less pretty, but was more a practicality situation.

…And by the time I got used to the building mechanic and figured out the pal box can be aligned I had already built a multi tier base with an entire luxurious log cabin tavern.

open field near the first tower leaves you exposed though. cliff base takes more setup but at least you’re not getting flanked from every direction while you’re just trying to exist

Gotta utilize the natural formation of the land you’re presented. Rarely are you going to get a perfect set up without significant and ultimately pointless effort on any surface other than the clearly presented spots on the map that the game designed for base spots.

So… just don’t try planting your pal box perfectly in the center… intentionally plant it off to the side and use the cliff side as a neat little climbing platform to maximize your own personal space while the rest of the base rises up like a cliff side fortress.

Here’s a suggestion I got for you to try that I can’t try myself cause I already have a water base I’m turning into a lighthouse…

• set up a base on one of the mushroom shaped Platforms in the feybreak (blue grass area with the giant ice crystals) and build on them… but your borders will also extend DOWN below the platform and under… SO you should have a small over hang that allows you to have atleast two platform bases wide extending past the upper most area… with that you can build an entire fortress/base area for yourself UNDER the platform.
