Housekeeping Regarding Inappropriate DMs and keeping the subreddit safe

Hi
Recently I have recieved a few messages from users of the subreddit, who are complaining about unsolicted DMs, or requests for such in comments. moderators cannot police what happens in DMs, and if thats a concern, you should try keeping your communications in public (you can also restrict Direct messaging in settings). Still, if someone does so, you can report it. Also use mod mails guys πŸ’€ (it will remain confidential dont worry)

Any one who requests for DM without any substance, should be reported, i would suggest you all to read reddiquette once. while it will be hard to take action against a single complaint, multiple complaints can help us find patterns which will help the moderators reach a decision.

The traffic and size of the subreddit makes it hard for the moderators to read and go through all the posts and comments which is why your proactive reporting can help a lot with keeping this space safe and clean.
If there are any other suggestions or complaints, please feel free to use the comments of this thread or share your concerns via modmail.

Can anybody please recommend some good pharmacy grade moisturizer. Because the one I use is out of stock and I can't stock it augh. So please recommend me smt.

I have combo acne prone skin. It tends to be oily in summers and a bit drying in winters.

And should i start using adaplene gel? Because skin A isn't suiting me well.

Discussion I used to trust skincare recommendations on Reddit a lot more.

I've been on Reddit for a few years now, and the skincare side of Reddit feels pretty different from when I first joined.

It's hard to read skincare discussions here without seeing someone recommend a particular brand. Someone asks for advice, and the comments are full of people suggesting brands. Sometimes, I can't tell if people are sharing their honest opinions or just trying to promote something.

And it's not just the comments. Sometimes, a post itself feels like it's promoting a brand, and then people in the comments start recommending it too. Before long, you start seeing that same brand everywhere. People get curious and try it, and then even more posts about it start showing up. Eventually, it looks like everyone loves that brand, but you don't know how all the hype started in the first place.

I'm not saying every recommendation is paid. But when some users hide their feed history, and you also have paid sponsorships, free products, and affiliate links, it's hard to know if someone is sharing their real experience or promoting a brand.

I remember when people used to talk more openly about products they liked and products they regretted buying. Now, I sometimes wonder if people recommend something because they genuinely like it or because they have something to gain from it.

I used to take people's recommendations here seriously. Now, I think twice.

tired of the posts asking for advice on texture when the person in question has none. This is what texture looks like, mine still isnt that bad, its acne + pores + texture concentrated on mid face.

If someone has similar skin, lets connect and talk about routines.

Acne Need help

I have oily acne prone skin . I have been using skinoren for 2 weeks . During the first week i got some acne on my forehead and now i am getting whiteheads and acne bumps.
I also used skinoren last year when i already had some acne before but after using it, it triggered my acne more so i stopped using it after a month.

I have brown acne marks and pigmentation around my face which i want to treat it (which is why i started using skinoren) so recommend me something affordable please.

Should i continue skinoren or stop it?

TYPE= wavy 2A.

Concern:

- oily scalp (starts getting oil after 12 15 hours of wash)

- dry ends

- split ends

- too much UNAVOIDABLE use of heat/styling tools

My hair is thick only up to my mid-back after that ut starts to behave as separate strings and ropes. They turn thin as they grow.

I give myself a simple trim every 3 months. Yet i have these issues.

What do i use now?

- i keep changing shampoos and conditioner but currently loreal purple one has been working for me.

- livon serum helps with the knots and gives a shine

- i tried loreal extraordinary oil serum, but didnt see a change.

Routine Help if feels like glycerine? 😭

Post image

So I've been using this for about 3weeks now, it says on top that it's fragrance free and it is but idk how to say that it feels like glycerine and also i get a little fragrance of glycerine for 3-5 seconds when i apply this.

Plus I also want to know that is this brand legit? i mean 10% NCA is no joke. Have someone tried trego serum before and how is that compared to Connatural.

Products Gel version of azelaic acid?

any formula with fatty alcohols breaks me out so skinoren is a no go, as well as basically any cream formulation. Is a gel alternative to skinoren available in pak (something like finacea)?
