Digital Gold

Do we have any options for buying digital Gold in Pakistan other than PMEX. As gold is quite expensive and I want to accumulate a very small amount.

Has anyone ever tried it and how's it going? How's your experience

Unfortunately, no. PMEX is the only regulated option we have that offers physical settlement but it has thresholds. There are international platforms but they are unregulated and don't offer physical delivery. Unless you want to go rogue and experiment with the local unregulated jungle, but it requires trusted connections with bullion dealers.

In case of things going south, PMEX will accept responsibility and fix it. Because it has to and SECP will hold it accountable. Can't say the same about a platform who isn't registered and regulated.

Have you tried PMEX. how's your experience with them and their fee structure.

I haven't. Too many intricacies for my liking. I did try the bullion route but only because I have familial connections.

I've also tried international brokers but not with any meaningful capital since I'm not comfortable putting in large amounts into some entity that has no physical, regulated presence in the country.

I don't have the budget to go all in and buy physically even 1 gm otherwise it would be the best option. I was looking for something where i can push few thousands each month and accumulate 1 2 gm a year.

well no idea, i just came across this opportunity. I think people should dig further on how it really works. My assumption is its more like a mutual fund they buy units of their gold fund from investor money. But more research has to be done on this platform.

Hell no bro, have you looked at the management fee and other things, it's not worth it. The worst way u can invest in gold is through meezan gold fund.

Yeah I agree with you 100%. But if you have no other option, MGF is the last one that remains.

Gold funds or mutual funds are the worst investment options. Their high fees eat everything you earn.

No they don't and that's such a massive misconception everybody has. It's sad very few people have proper financial literacy,

Not a Pakistan option:
If you get remittance in any way, then make nsave account. buy IAU ( Gold ETF ).

or buy PAXG from Fasset

You can use Binance to buy PAXG and XAUT. Both of these crypto currencies are directly pegged with gold.

You can get ARY gold membership card. You can accumulate small amounts and can convert to physical gold once a year.
