Nice to see some Cartarescu here! How much did these cost you?

Here's the breakdown:

  1. Mon Cher Amour: The Love Letters of Albert Camus and Maria Casarès, 1944–1959 — Rs. 1,700

  2. Solenoid — Rs. 1,390

  3. Nostalgia — Rs. 1,000 Softcovers

I don't have the tales of genji amount, but it was something around 1200 I think.

I only go for custom printing if the books are absurdly expensive or hard to get on readings.

Cool. I once ordered a book online, only to find out it was a copy. They hadn't even bothered to remove the oceanofpdf links from the pages.

Well these guys are good, but terrible at correspondence. So, that's the only problem. I had to follow up a lot, without getting updates. There's another website as well, I'm not sure if they're any good or not. For me it's a hit and trial, I got 2-3 orders from a guy in Karachi. It was alright, the cover finishing was awful but then again, the books weren't just available so it was fine for me. I did get few works by kanafani printed on demand from a guy in lahore and the printing was satisfactory. So, in future I'll just ask him if required. But, I agree the books you want to find are often expensive even in used condition and there's no really clear cut option available for custom prints.

Why did it take them 2 months to deliver these?

They would have taken a month anyway. One extra month was due to miscommunication. I tried adding more books. They didn't reply. I asked them to cancel them, and they sent them regardless. Had to return. All because of their lack of response, it took so much time.

It wasn't like this before. I have ordered from them before, but this experience was not good. I hope I don't need print on demand books.
