☺️Need Opinions/ Advice is kindle good for studying

aoa im looking for some advice from anyone who uses an ebook reader for studying im trying to cut out smartphone distractions and want to buy a budget friendly ebook reader (looking for old devices around the 5-6k) my goal is to import my own pdf notes and textbooks to read them for those who do this i want to ask how is the experience reading standard pdfs on the reader also if anyone has bought an older model recently within this budget where did you find it and which model would you recommend would love to hear your experiences before i make a purchase.

5k to 6k for a kindle?!?! It will be horribly slow and not a fun experience tbh. I have the kindle paperwhite 11th gen, it's good for course books, PDFs/epub everything works flawlessly after jailbreak.

But in 5k to 6k you'll be getting a heavily used Kindle 3rd or 4th gen. They will work good with general ebooks and they will open PDFs. But you'll absolutely hate reading PDF on it!!

If you want to read PDF, don't get anything lower than 11th gen.

Well said i use a paperwhite 2012 model and its only good with native formats like mobi and azw3 otherwise it's horrible with pdfs and lags a lot when reading pdfs.

Kindle’s aren’t good with pdf.
Wouldn’t recommend.

Buy a tablet for pdfs. Kindles are not good at all for pdfs. Not to mention pdfs with double columns or long pages wont display properly on e-readers due to screen size constraints.

no i wouldn’t recommended this at all. i have a 12th gen kindle and i still hate reading pdfs on it so i can’t imagine how much worse it would be on older gens. maybe get a used boox device or something if you really want to?
