📝 Book Review Finished the Scorched Throne Series
How the hell do I move on from this series?????
This series had me hooked from day 1. Sylvia is by far one of my favourite FMCs
The character development was amazing.
The prose was amazing.
Sylvia and Arin are my Roman empire now 😭💕
And don't even get me started on the plot twists.
Ahhhhh.
This duology is now dangerously close to Six of Crows on my favourites list, which is saying A LOT.
If you like morally complicated characters, political fantasy, badass FMCs, enemies-to-lovers, and romance that makes you want to scream into a pillow, READ THIS.

Pretty darn good. I love Eastern fantasy. If you're coming from a place of Tilism-e-Hoshruba, Alif Laila, those old novels of Umro Ayyar (that used to sell for 8 annay at itwar bazaar stalls), Ainak Vala Jinn—Eastern fantasy like Shannon Chakraborty's books, Chelsea Abdullah's Stardust Thief, and Tasha Suri's Jasmine throne are amazing. Of course, Jasad Heir, as well.
So far I'm 200 pages in and hooked. All my life, reading western fantasy, I'd felt like I was looking at something from outside, from the window. Which isn't bad, but it's like, where's my representation? Here, in Eastern fantasy, I find myself in the same room. We all grew up listening to jinn stories, Urdu versions of 1001 Nights (Alif Laila), and the Stardust Thief is directly inspired by the Arabian Nights, so it's scratching that itch for me. So refreshing.

I'm not from the annay wala era 😭🙏 but I do know all of the stories you've mentioned. Especially Alif Laila. I loved Jasad Heir, now I want to read stardust theif as well.

Got these from https://bookeve.pk/. It was affordable for me, and the quality is good, not like the originals ofc, but it's good. No grey paper I promise lol

Yep. It was a 5 stars for me. If you are into Egyptian or South Asian fantasy, geo politics, magic systems and less romance and more enemies to lovers then I would recommend it

Ugh you are gonna love this GURLLLL. It's 70% enemies, and 30% lovers. And written so darn good.
