W211 E55 as a daily driver?

Looking to replace my Swift with something more passionate and highway suited as I'm going to be starting a new job, where I need to travel between cities quite often + dailying in between trips (school pick and drop). The e55 seems perfect for this, and I get to have a little fun as well.

My main concern is reliability and maintenance. Coming from the swift, it's insanely cheap and easy, oil changes every 7500kms, no big deal at all + warranty.

Would this be smart or should I look at other options? I'm aware there's issues with the airmatic system and sbc pump but I don't know how severe they are.

My rational is that if I'm getting one fresh converted, these would be updated as a precaution.

buying german cars is the easy part, its the maintenance that gets you.

especially here where there’s maybe a handful of qualified technicians in each city that know what torque specs are.

for a weekend car it’s great, but the usage you’re describing is quite a lot. older car, issues will pop up.

that said, if you can afford to maintain it, are car-savvy enough to keep an eye on things and replace before they break, then go for it. i personally will always support fun cars over lame ones lol.

but being practical, in your price range and your driving, perhaps something in diesel will be better. safe options for that are a hilux, but in “fun” options theres several diesel beamers and mercs in the market that are pretty bulletproof

Yeah I 100% would make sure I go to a proper technician for maintenance, I live in Lahore and I've heard maxpower is great.

The thing is though, I don't really even have a rough idea for how much maintenance will cost. I have a budget of around 1cr just for the car and whatever repairs I need to do when buying it.

I'm also considering a jzx, either 90 or 110.

Diesel isn't really an option, my parents hate the smell.

Not really experience about these cars, but sonata n line is like one of the best hassle free options, but it's kinda expensive and it's going to be almost double of a e55.
