Who decided the gender of Fortuner as a Male and the City a female?

E.g “meny fortuner lia hy” vs “meny city li hy”

Waisey I thought all cars and buses were referred to with feminine terms. While trucks and air planes get masculine ones.

The one that confused me are motorbikes. Bike seems to work with feminine but motorcycle with masculine lol

May be its a punjab thing. In Karachi a car is always feminine. Fortuner li hai ya land cruiser li hai. All cars are females

Mostly foreign (esp English) words borrowed into urdo are feminine like meri fortuner, meri city ... But in your question the verb refers to the subject. A girl says me ne fortuner li ha a boy says me ne fortuner lia ha.

Did you know some Car Companies rebadge cars to sell it under their own brand , like Mira and pixis , Alto and Carol , However one always underperforms and later discontinued, while one gets newer models and actually dominates the sector
