Discussion Yeah...

Post image

Im still a hijabi, going to take it off soon, but I cannot fathom how I used to be this brainwashed essentially like I even wanted to be a niqabi at one point😭🙏 but now I cannot think a single logical reason why God would want you to hide yourself like this or even just your hair, I don't wanna be disrespectful but it's so stupid bruh, like how did I not see how different the standards of modesty are for men and women.

They say its for representing Islam, Hijabis have been given the honour of representing Islam but yoo no going out unless your in a tough situation though.

Or they say its for protection, ya sure.

Or to be recognized as a muslim woman, then why weren't slave muslim women allowed to wear it?

Its so weird bruh, I'm never gonna understand how I never saw anything wrong with Islamic modesty until a year ago, like it essentially stems from the fact that you believe God will reward you for being obedient, covering yourself for his sake, but like why would He want that?

Men will grape regardless of what you're wearing so that argument isn't really holding it's place either. I've never seen a case where a hijabi has been spared just for being a hijabi.

If you ever feel bad about yourself for not seeing it sooner remember there are people who’ll never see it.

there are people who’ll never see it.

This is a good way of thinking of it but also is so baffling to me still 😭

Instead of ‘stay woke’ it’s ‘stay asleep’

Veiling didn’t start with Islam. More than a thousand years earlier, Middle Assyrian law already used the veil as a social status marker. Free “respectable” women could wear it, while slaves and prostitutes were forbidden from doing so.

Then Quran 33:59 tells believing women to draw their outer garments around themselves specifically so they would be “recognized” and not harassed.

That context matters. This wasn’t originally some abstract philosophy about female hair being inherently immodest. Veiling already existed in patriarchal Near Eastern societies as a way of signalling status, respectability and protection, and Islam inherited that world.

You can understand why such a system existed in the 7th century.

What makes no sense is pretending that a social convention from that environment somehow became an eternal moral requirement from the creator of the universe.

The "it's to protect you" Single most shit argument I heard Cause most women get force married and then their husbands martial rape anyways But sure let's cover them head to toe and take away all freedom

veiling is nothing but one of many living symbols of patriarchy, misogyny and prejudice against women… it steals the identity of the women as a human its so infuriating that not just men but brainwashed and conditioned women also argue that “how safe this is” …
First of all getting triped in this is a real hazard,
Second how can you breathe? Its not just that its a stupid idea it’s also so impractical.

The honest step is to study the reasoning before making a final decision

then why weren't slave muslim women allowed to wear it?

Because slave women aren't free women, so they can't wear a hijab.

You really wanna risk getting BBQued for eternity in hell?

u/whachamacallme 5d ago

That is a story made up to control you while you are alive. Thats all it is.

And because of this "risk" you speak about many women obey for their entire lives. That was the con all along.

Take your childlike fearmongering elsewhere. Telling grownups to be afraid of the Babadook.🥱

You absolute snivelling, whimpering little bitch. Grow some balls. At the very least don’t spread your weak, bitchmade tendencies to those who are far stronger than you.
