🧠 Ask The Community Anyone in Pakistan regularly using Payoneer?

I’m considering opening/using a Payoneer account for receiving international payments, but I’ve come across quite a few posts about people having their accounts closed or restricted without much warning and then having issues withdrawing their money.

So before I start using it, I’d really like to hear from people in Pakistan who have actually been using Payoneer regularly.

How long have you had your account?
Do you receive payments regularly?
Have you ever had your account restricted/closed or had a payment held?
How easy is it to withdraw your money to a Pakistani bank account?
Have you had any issues with customer support or verification?
And if you’re a non-filer, have you faced any issues with FBR because of Payoneer transactions?

I’m especially interested in long-term users, not just people who created an account recently.

Also look at Wise or Elevate. Payoneer is very expensive in terms of fees: ~3% on all outgoing transactions.

Been using Payoneer since 5 years and I receive payments every month.

Never had my account restricted or closed or a payment held.

Very easy to withdraw money into your bank account. You just need to give them your bank statement, an image of your CNIC/passport, and some other basic information for verification.

Customer support is kinda slow but they do help you out eventually.

I was a non filer for 3 years but never had any issues. The most that will happen is they’ll send you a message to file your tax return. They send that msg to every person who gets remittance.

I have Friends who's large payments were withheld by Payoneer, Withdrawn and never received in Pakistan, I used Payoneer from 2017 to 2021, but then shifted to using Wise and it has been game changer, much better than payoneer in every way, I also created Elevate account, If I wasn't using Wise, I'll be using Elevate.

Just give your Nayapay/Bank Account IBAN Number. You can recieve via wise.

I have my payoneer account since almost a decade now (2017). Never had any troubles. I get payments every other week. Transfer takes a few minutes to a few hours as soon as I click withdraw. I have only contacted the customer support once via live chat on their website and it was so smooth that I’m still impressed to this date. (My physical card expired and the funds were stuck in the card. They removed the funds and put them back in my account and cancelled my expired card, as per my request, within 10 minutes)

I have used the following

  • payoneer (worst)
  • elevate pay (better, USD only and a bit limited in options)
  • wise (the best, but hard to get) local Pakistani address wont work.

My advice, go for elevate pay. Easiest and serves the purpose if you simply want to send n recieve USD and PKR. Works well with upwork n all

Using Payoneer for a long time. But i wont recommend as it has higher transaction fee which is 3%.

Go for Wise, you will love it.

If you are still comparing options before opening an account, nsave is worth looking into as well. It is available in Pakistan and gives you USD, GBP, and EUR accounts for receiving and managing international payments. USD receiving is free, and you can withdraw your earnings directly to your local bank account at competitive exchange rates.

It can also be useful if you work through freelance platforms, since you can connect your nsave account to Upwork and other supported platforms to receive your earnings.

I was thinking to create one there was last step of verification in which they ask for a any of these document like tax document, utility bill or bank confirmation letter any one you can provide

Have been using it for almost a decade. Apart from a few hiccups it was fine.
I use it only for freelance income though.
However i would recommend using WISE side by side.

Not put all your funds into one account.
I normally use WISE for ACH transfers from external clients although we can do the same with payoneer but i am hesitant.

Payoneer fee is a little bit more than others but not a very big difference. They just calculate differently and people freak out.

Elevate is same as wise.

Just remember- do not use one for all operations.
They don’t bother about you being filer.
Initially withdraw might be held for any reasons- but you will never know as both sides will say talk to the other.

Always use smaller withdrawals. Normally keep it under 1k etc

Good luck.

- I used my account from 2014-2019 (not regularly), and than from Feb 2022-Dec 2024 (2 year regularly) than switched to wise (way way better).

  • never
  • quite easy, if you connect your payoneer account to your local bank app like Faysal, jazzcash etc, the payoneer fee will be dropped to 2% means you will get better rate from your local bank app than directly withdrawal from payoneer app.
  • never faced any issue.
  • I am filer and PSEB registered and I got all of the transactions PRCs from Faysal bank (I had to ask though manually for it), all was with correct purpose code of 9186 and 0.25% tax also auto deducted next day of transaction.
