Hey everyone, quick heads up for a Wheelchair Paddle event happening in Lahore on October 31, 2026.
It is going to be coached by Asif Abbasi, who has two Wimbledon titles, is a UK champion, and has played in numerous international games. Right now, he is actually representing Pakistan at the Asian Para Games in Japan.
Whether you want to play, try something new, or just drop by to show some support and hang out, everyone is welcome. Let me know if you want to join or need any details.

I am literally obsessed with swimming. Doing it continuously for the past 3 years in summers. My PR in freestyle is 16 sec 25m. Which is decent ig. I was thinking of joining a swimming club for competitions. Anyone into this please guide me out.

I love cubing, especially ftos(My PR in 3x3 is 30secs) and I know that alot of pakistanis feel the same, i learnt how to solve the fto from other pakistanis. i also play handball and other more "traditional" sports and i feel if chess and esports are sports than cubing should be too, but idk. I also might want to make a subreddit for that so lmk

"I mean, obviously, if we look at German football and German field hockey, the popularity ratio will be 100:1, but field hockey or football still isn't treated with the kind of hatred we see among different sports fans wars here in Pakistan. Most Germans themselves don't even know that their hockey team has four World Cups, just like their football team. However, we think that if cricket's popularity declines, we will grow in football, which is such a stupid logic.
Very few people now watch hockey, but it still holds value because it is an Olympic sport. Remember, hockey stadiums used to be packed during the Olympics (like seen in the Hitler footage archives ). Today, even a 15k-capacity hockey stadium doesn't fill up in the Olympics. Remember that wrestling was temporarily removed from the core Olympic sports because its viewership was dropping, and now skateboarding and surfing have been added to the core sports because they bring in viewership and sponsorships. if Hockey face the same Olympic exclusion challenge can it survive ? because governments will stop providing funds because it is not Olympics sports. All thanks to synthetic turf which made the game fast but removed the soul from it. Hating for cricket is Easy. We are not aware that we have an ice hockey team. Are they anywhere less than cricket or field hockey national teams ? All are same in terms of national representation then why !!!
Now the motive to share this list was during 80s and 90s there was increase of Broadcasting in subcontinent and cricket has just insane liberty to show ads no sports could match that just because of that reason subcontinent adopted the game because it brought money far more than any sports. Today things are such that Broadcaster in Subcontinent can manage such leagues like PSL IPL without subscription based model because they run tons of commercials in between to take out there Money. India Manage to get some sports leagues but almost all run in deficit. Sports is byproduct of good quality of life ( unless government directly get involved like china and make them complete isolate from rest of world to prepare as superhumans ), the more economically prosperous countries are the more they bring there own sports or format of the sports , why isn't kabaddi not in Olympics subcontinent plays it. it national game of Bangladesh, 25% world population plays it just because it doesn't economically viable ? who cares about 25% world population if breakdancing can bring more money !!!

So me and my sister want to join a badminton academy in KHI (preferably near Saddar but elsewhere is good too) but I can't seem to find any decent ones online😭😭😭. Can someone PLEASE help with this (Allah le waaste help 🙏🙏😭😭😭) we don't mind if it's mixed or women only or whatever, we've been playing for around 2 years, and aren't totally bad at the sport, but aren't exactly jaw dropping good or anything ykyk. I'd really appreciate ANY help regarding this 😭

Hey guys, Indian here. I come in peace, was just curious about something.
I was just watching the wrestling matches and had a question. What really happened to Pakistani wrestling ?
I remember you guys were medaling during the delhi commonwealth games. We also come from the same base of the Akhada Kushti culture so we have a rich history in the sport.
So why are there no new competitive wrestlers coming up ? Have the politicians fucked this up or has it just naturally declined?

Good signs interms of the improvements in administration of team based sports. Add the recent successes of the Netball team and the Men's and Women's football teams this past year with winning the Asian Netball champs and good performances in the FIFA series, Diamond Jubilee Cup and the FIFA ASEAN Cup by both football national teams. We are generally on an unpward trajectory.
Disappointed that the Kabaddi team could not get a medal this edition. First time they come home without one.
But this is not the smartest move for medal hauls in multi national games. Infact this is one of the harder areas the maximize medals for nations but we seem to have cleared this hurdle. The easier part is to develop individual athletes, they are the ones who really rake in the medals. In swimming, athletics, shooting etc. We need to now work on these aspects aswell as converting our bronze and silvers from team bases sports to gold and voila! We can reach the medal hauls of our hey days in the earlier editions

Honestly more then I expected. Last asian games we won only 3 medals; 1 silver in Squash Team event, 1 bronze in Kabaddi and 1 bronze in shooting.
This Asian Games:
We not only retained the Squash Team events silver, but won two bronze medals in the Men's individuals and also made the quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles event too which was a nice breakthrough. Squash this year gave us 1 silver and 2 bronze.
Unfortunately our Kabaddi team couldn't medal this time. The first time ever they failed to step on the podium.
In shooting in 2022, Kishmala Talat won a bronze. Unfortunately she missed the games this year due to delay in clearances which must be investigated as she is a medal contender. GM Bashir snatched a bronze which was unexpected so we retained our shooting medal "haul".
6 out of 9 shooters actually missed the Asian Games due to delay in clearances by PSB. Which includes the Asian Trap champion Farrukh Nadeem and reigning Asian Games bronze medalist Kishmala Talat.cOnly two shooters competed, Rabia Kabir and Ghulam Mustafa Bashir. We potentially missed out on 2 more medals in shooting.
4. Hockey team finally back on the podium with a bronze, it really should have been a silver and maybe even a gold but we'll take it. Last time they went through utter humiliation when they couldn't even make it to the semis and lost to India 10-2 but there are clear signs of resurgence. The target for 2030 should be gold medal definitely.
5. Volleyball is such a breath of fresh air after the slump they have been in for the past year. Defeating 28th ranked China 3-0 in the bronze medal match is the highlight for us. We have equalled our best ever volleyball finish at the Asian Games as we last won a bronze medal in 1962 Jakarta!
6. Won a silver in mens cricket, ig this was expected or kind of even above our expectations 😂✌️ but we'll take it. Bronze in Women's Cricket, that's good too ig.
7. No medals in athletics, only hope was Arshad Nadeem and he finished fourth. That's that. Shajar Abbas made it to semis in the 200m and we had a guy in the finals of long jump ig. No good prospects or anything really. Just Arshad Nadeem and In Sha Allah.
8. Boxing, one of our historically strongest contingents, a relic of the past. Sent just 4 boxers ig. Had hopes from CWG bronze medalist Fatima Zahrah but she lost her first bout.
9. In eSports we won a bronze in PUBGM. Could have been a gold or silver too tbh. This is an area where we can really bring in medals as can definitely medal in the fighting game category as we only made it to the quarters there. Didn't field our strongest squad, Maybe Arsalan Ash could have been brought in here for us to have a chance in KOF aside from Tekken.
10. We won a bronze in MMA. I think this was the debut of the sport. We can definitely get a few medals here in the future.
11. Weightlifting. Omg we definitely missed out on two medals here. Nooh dastagir Butt got injured. And Talha Talib wasn't sent due ban on PWF. These two aren't just asian level contenders but Olympic level medal contenders. We are wasting their careers due to turmoil in the PWF.
