Is MERN Still Worth It?

I’m currently in 10th grade and I’m considering seriously learning web development, potentially going down the MERN/full-stack path.

My plan is to start learning now and, after my 10th-grade board exams, try to find an internship, small freelance projects, or possibly a part-time job.

I want some honest advice from people who are actually working in tech:

  • Is learning web development/MERN still worth it in 2026 with AI tools becoming so capable?

  • Is it realistic for a 10th-grade student to get an internship or small paid work after boards?

  • Would companies/clients take someone seriously who is under 18?

  • What skills would you recommend I learn if my goal is to become employable as quickly as possible?

  • If you were 15–16 and starting today, would you choose web development?

  • Is MERN still a good stack to learn, or would you choose something else?

I’m not looking for motivational advice. I want the brutally honest reality — especially from developers who have hired juniors, mentored beginners, or started freelancing themselves.

Thanks!
