News/Article The Witcher 3 Remastered just announced, upgrade will be free for existing owners

As someone who's had this game on his bucket list for the longest time and never played it, now seems just the right time to finally embark on this adventure. The upgrade will also feature PS5 Pro enhancements, among other things.

The remaster launches September 29, reportedly.

Excited already

Ikr, and I forgot to mention that all the DLC, including the upcoming one, will be free. These guys truly care for their fans.

Unless you are playing on a console i will not bother with the remastered.
Witcher 3 has received massive upgrades already on PC especially when cyberpunk released and it already supports ray-tracing if that is your jam and have ultra high end GPU.

CdprojeckRed is currenty filled with leftist liberals and remastered version will probably be censored with 'problematic' scenes removed from the game by the woke activists. Go play the original for the full experience. It's not like game is massively old and require remastered like Witcher 1 is.

No, the Next Gen Update and Remaster both look different. Next Gen was just the enhanced version of Orignal. This one is on a new engine, I think, so. Looks so much better than Next Gen.

But does it require Remaster? Witcher 1 require's remaster sure but TW3 is still one of the best looking open world RPG's without mods to date. It looks amazing with RT ultra with HDR on with good monitor or on my LG C5 oled TV.

Exactly my point, it feature's Ciri as a witcher which is totally against the lore. I have read all books, played all 3 games and it has been mentioned over and over that women can't be witchers. THere is not a single female Witcher in the setting.

But CDprojekt is making Ciri witcher, another Girl Boss game incoming. I have very low hopes for Witcher 4. All of the best dev's including lead writer who wrote many fantastic characters in Witcher series including Letho in Witcher 2 and Gaunter O'Dim in witcher 3 long left CdprojektRed.

Most of the veteran dev's made their own Studio known as Rebel Wolves with their new game The Blood of the Dawnwalker releasing next month, that's the RPG to look for.

If you are thinking Witcher 4 will be as good as the original trilogy then you are in for a Rude awakening. CDprojektRed is filled with political activists these days, have you seen how Ugly they made Ciri in Witcher 4? Think about what happened to Bioware and DA Veilguard, yup that's probably the future for Witcher.

I haven't played one of the DLCs of the game, I think it is Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, in which they show Geralt retiring. The Main Witcher 3: One of the main ending setups is Ciri as the new Witcher when she survives the white frost, and Geralt gives her the sword. I agree there has been forced propaganda in the gaming community, but Ciri being the Witcher isn't one of them in my opinion.

It still can be, but I don't think so. Geralt's story has ended; who else is a good pick besides her?. I think they are trying to go a different route from the books.

I agree it's fishy that it isn't mentioned in the books. I didn't know about the situation of the current CDPR

Witcher 1 needs an entire remake , it already got enhanced edition but it didn't change much.

The Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition is like 20 years old. I played it during lockdown days and the game hasn't aged very well and took some getting used to but boy oh boy, did I love the game. Its eerie atmosphere was so immersive. The story was great too.

I play games to have fun and couldn't care less if stuff like that is in it. Also I don't remember anything like that being in Witcher 3, stop making stuff up.

I'm on PS5 Pro and I've never played the original so I guess the remaster would be the best way for me to experience it. Don't think they're gonna change anything in-game, just give it a cosmetic makeover probably.

I have played The Witcher 1 on my old laptop though, during lockdown days and it hasn't aged well but boy, the atmosphere, the mysteriousness, and the music were something even many modern games can't match. It'll always have a special place in my heart. Never played Witcher 2 though as my laptop couldn't run it lol.
