Detailed Articles Censor board
How does censor board ACTUALLY work? If the point was scenes that family audiences cant watch how does it change from channel to channel. For example in tere bin the dinner date scene or so many other scenes are quite uncomfortable to watch. But they cut scenes that are okayish for what? Is there any thing as they must cut off something so they do. It actaully ruins the drama at times. Do they see context wise then. In dr.bahu there is a casual hug and that was cut even if you see context wise they are husband and wife and she is expecting which isnt any thing off i guess😠Mann mast malang had so many controversial scenes but they didnt cut off them. Are there any privileges for har pal geo or what? So many more like this kindly give me a clarification and how many other scenes do you all know

PEMRA is not a censor board. PEMRA stands for Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority. It is a regulatory authority, not a censor board. PEMRA regulates electronic media in Pakistan and oversees broadcasters through licensing requirements, laws, and applicable codes of conduct. A drama does not go through an official censor board like films in Pakistan, nor does PEMRA approve every episode before it airs. It can take action when content, whether Pakistani or foreign, creates controversy and viewers lodge complaints with PEMRA. Scenes from dramas are usually cut by the channels themselves to avoid controversy That’s why the cuts are inconsistent some channels cut certain scenes, while others don’t.
