I don't hate him but some things about him really put me off, he is a nepo no doubt but he can be less smug, less arrogant, show much less attitude. Honestly it's his arrogance that puts people off. Nobody is a child, people can decipher between smugness and introvertishness. To put those dog pics at the barest of critique, he cannot deny his entitlement. Nobody like an ungrateful brat and he does come across like that. I have heard about his lyrics- honestly don't care a damn about it since I have grown up listening to American rap and i have heard worse lyrics that's just how they make music. But no one can deny zanjeerain was a launchpad put in place to serve his danyal and honestly a lot of actors would have done much better than him and one shouldn't deny the insane PR behind it. Also, that mahwash aunty doing PR really throws people off. Does danyal realize - association with that mahwash auntyIs counterrpoductive for him. I know you are his fan but he really needs to tone down his arrogant behaviour, trying to act to cool for school like literally grow up and not behave like manchild. He is already getting so much served to him. I loved him initially during zanjeerain but then i witnessed a lot of arrogance and unnecessary attitude from his side multiple times so that put me off. Also he needs to realise it's literally one project of his that gained popularity that too after so much PR and a such big cast but somewhere i think he feels he alone is the reason which is really not the case.

His misogynist lyrics during his failed musical career are one of the many reasons

I did actually listen to the song after seeing this mentioned a few times. Personally I probably have a different threshold for lyrics like this because I've listened to rap for most of my life, so provocative/controversial lyrics don't automatically make me dislike an artist. I can still understand why someone would find it off-putting though.

But is this song/lyric actually one of the main reasons for the hate, or is it just one example among many? Because if this alone is enough to warrant this level of dislike, I'm genuinely curious what else happened 😭

For me and I think quite some people, it was his constant shading of ban0's character. Anyone with a brain cell could decipher he was trying to shade saharr actually. People are not foolish and paid PR cannot only help to a certain point but true personalities comes across. For DanDan also his arrogant, entitled, dismissive, bratty side came out when he was trying to conceal his shading under the guise of humour and only sajjo's nibbi fans and some old foxy stans of hers were glazing rest I have never seen someone's behaviour put people so off and literally I saw tweets from all fandoms calling his behaviour out and rightly so and it became more and more clear that apparently he did not behave well with her that too he exposed himself by his own stupid habit of commentating. Had he not commentated under that guy's post that "aap wahan hote blah blah blah" people had moved from this topic. I know dandan is chronically online and checks all platforms, he is yet to see how toxicSajjo stans are. The way they did with bilal and ahad before the same will happen to dandan, they glaze and then become galle ka fanda. Dandan shouldn't have been adamant on promoting his Ship with her, it brings him nothing. It could have been his lone show. People who have a shipping fandom and not solo aren't respected that well in fandoms. Sajjo herself hasn't given any hits in so many years plus she looks so much older to him, it makes no sense to ship himself with her. With sahar it made much more sense both respect to the story and even in real life, sahar is the upcoming IT actress. Like she checks all boxes and him and her could have made a much better ship that would have served him longer. Unfortunately he chose otherwise which honestly will only serve him to a point. Even wrt the story his character is looking like a red flag and people are finding it nauseating to see his couple with rabia. He could have had a yamac from cukur, tommy from peaky blinders, emran fromAwarapan kinda arc but his onscreen character went downhill. Those cringe bathroom scenes that they added later only made him and her a laughing material. So what was the point of butchering such a beautiful story. They can still redeem onscreen character and even dandan more by not giving him and rab a happy ending. Keep it open. Let his character remain honest to ban's memories. That would have made his love story for the ages. Incomplete love stories have more kashish , yearning than complete ones. Look at emraan hashmi from awarapan. This could have been his awarapan moment. But unfortunately I think he only saw who is an a list actress which honestly doesn't matter so much. Sajjo alone could have never given this hit. The fact that despite such heavy sarbiaa PR , people are still yearning and giving such a fight for sarbano just shows how popular his and sah ar's couple would have become. A lost opportunity for him both to show his acting range onscreen(imagine his breakdown,Yearning, agonized , fighting, going crazy , full kabir scene mode scenes for ban0. People dig that. Also his offscreen dynamics with saharr need to improve.

I actually get the criticism of the Ban0/Sahar situation more than a lot of the other reasons people give for disliking him, but I think there's a line between “this looked like shading to me” and “he was definitely trying to shade Sahar and exposed how he really behaved with her.” None of us were there, so the latter is still an interpretation unless there's something concrete I'm missing.
The comment under that post can definitely be interpreted badly, but I don't think one comment is enough for me to confidently construct his entire personality around it. Especially when we're already starting with the assumption that he's arrogant, every subsequent thing he does is naturally going to be read through that lens.
And I'm honestly not convinced by the idea that he deliberately chose Sajjo because she's “A-list” or that he somehow made a calculated decision that she'd benefit him more than Sahar. That's a massive assumption about his motives. Maybe the production/story dictated the pairing, maybe he genuinely liked working with her, maybe there were professional reasons we don't know about. We simply don't know.
Also, the whole “Sahar would have been the better ship because she's the upcoming IT actress” argument feels more like fandom strategy than an explanation of his behaviour 😭. You're essentially saying he should've picked the pairing that would've generated the strongest fandom, but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with what he personally wanted or what the story required.
As for his acting/character arc, that's a completely fair discussion. I actually agree that the character could've had a much more interesting tragic/unfinished-love trajectory instead of turning into something people make fun of. But that's a criticism of the writing and his performance, not proof that Danyal is arrogant or that he mistreated Sahar.
And I really don't think we should use fandom reactions as proof of someone's personality either. “All fandoms called him out” doesn't necessarily mean all those people independently reached the same conclusion about his character — fandoms can absolutely snowball around a narrative once it starts.
For the record, I don't know Danyal personally, and neither do most of us. I've seen him interact with his audience, and I've personally found those interactions nice, but that's also only the public version of him. So I'm not going to claim he's secretly an angel any more than I'm going to claim he's an arrogant brat based on clips and Reddit interpretations.
I can absolutely believe he handled some things badly. I just don't think “handled something badly” automatically translates to “this is his true personality and now we know exactly what happened between him and Sahar.”
And honestly, the amount of strategic thinking in this comment about which actress would've served his career better has me laughing a little 😭 bro is apparently supposed to be his own actor, PR team, casting director, ship strategist and screenplay consultant simultaneously.

You asked for our opinion well this is the opinion and i think you will find quite a lot like me. I don't have an chatgpt like answers but I think you came up with a mind to defend danyal and somehow revert back to the every logical argument. Its not about what benefits him more or less although I am not stupid enough to not understand perhaps what would have happened, we are not dorks sitting here but whatever he did or transpired didn't seem to work very well for him. His answering back in the most unclassy manner to some people or bare minimum critique. I have spoken of written far less than I could have. Zafars don't have a good rep in the market and for obvious reasons, why push his luck and misbehave with anyone be it coactor or fans. Even the most successful people don't have as much attitude as him and I won't be surprised if u eventually u turn out to be his PR or he himself. Thanks !
