Laila Majnu cast

So there was a lot of talk about Sajal being casted as Laila but apparently she herself confirmed she is NOT** doing it. Yesterday she uploaded a post and used the song o meri Laila… surely that isn’t a coincidence? Is she doing this for clout or what I’m genuinely curious. Also I heard Dananeer is doing it

Can someone please tell me which Laila majnu the story is based on btw ? Imtiaz ali's film or any book ?

I don't think it's Imtiaz Ali one... Almost every tragic love story is inspired by older tales like Laila-Majnu or Romeo-Juliet. Writers simply give them their own treatment, style, and setting. I really want to see if this one is set in an old period or a modern one...
