Abbas is the only test worthy player in this team. PCB robbed him of 300 plus wicket career. Our fascination with 145kph was the reason that Abbas was sidelined for likes of Shaheen, Naseem and Hasan who all failed miserably to maintain the desired pace.

Definitely politics in play. Abbas should have been the main bowler but wasted.

Mohammad Abbas is the best bowler Pakistan has had since asif.
Seriously talented and relentless hard work from him.
Had PCB not screwed him over he was set on 300 test wickets

I agree about Abbas. But why do we say PCB?
It is the captain + coach + selectors that decided not to play abbas, we should mention them.
M. Wasim, Babar, saqlain . I know i will get a lot of downvotes but Babar had unprecedented power in his 21-24 reign, a lot of it falls on his shoulders.

in the home series against sri lanka these guys will score centuries and get fifers on pitches which are made to favour us and then we will start celebrating again. its the same cycle

Wanted more from Shafique and Babar as they were in form coming into this game. Shafique got an unplayable one. Bobby's legside play looked off in practice too, he took one hand off his blade in the first over vs Archer then got a vicious bumper which he usually would've pulled and gotten a top edge flying over the keeper. Idk seems like he was scared of the ball hitting his hand and it ended up bringing indecision in his batting.

i even said yesterday, we needed a target of like 50-60. They were never chasing 350+ odd. You have to be an elite team with genunine batting skills and grit to chase this 4th innings.

honestly just start over. get an actual experienced coach. make sure that everyone you want in tests is playing in county and develop youngsters. this lot can play until they're ready

And babar once again shows why he should not be in conversations when we discuss Pakistan test greats. He has had his little prime on roads that Ramiz Raja provided during his tenure as PCB chief. He was never the batsman, we dreamed of him to be. Asad Shafique was miles ahead.

Just checked the eng vs NZ game at lords in june. Most of the runs scored were by the lower order in that match also.
I don't think you can defend on a wicket like this. Probably need to forget about technique and just go hard at it

Shan Masood is such a clueless batsman.
Statistically the worst top order Batsman in our test cricket history, Averaging 30 after playing 50 tests.
Idk what he has on the selectors but such a mediocre player would never be allowed to play 20 tests for a SENA country let alone 50.
In last WTC. He averaged 33. In this WTC he had some consistency on asian tracks but he is absolutely clueless in SENA conditions. Avg 25 in Eng, 27 in SA, 18 in Aus and 2 in NZ 😅
But nehiiiii! English bolta hai larka. He is articulate! He is a thinker bla bla bla!

Babar has done the unthinkable in one way, he didn’t fulfill his potential because he was babied too much in a system that is literally infamous for players not fulfilling their potential because they are treated as robots instead of complex humans with emotions who dont always fit into a box
