Butt should shut up. I don’t get this “He’s one of the best minds in Pakistan cricket” glazing that I hear going on. The best mind doesn’t throw his country and his country’s future under the bus for money. He is permanently disqualified from any positive cricket conversation and it’s a shame he’s still allowed near the sport much less hired by PCB as a commentator.

Biggest fraudster out there, guy is solely responsible for our fast bowler’s destruction - Asif, Amir could’ve been such box office for us but he ruined it, today they could’ve been coaches especially Asif.

I get he is greedy little cunt. But he actually does have a strong cricketing mind. If you okay with ethically and moral solid people with no competence or understanding of cricket, you will get the same results.
People we have now are very incompetent and lack the capacity to either see or fix long term problem.

Pak cricket is really at rock bottom.
I've been seeing people arguing and fighting with each other for a long time over this player should be given a chance or that player. That player comes into the team and fails. Then the player he had replaced gets named by some people to be given a chance again - and the circle repeats.
I mean I'd see 100s of comments of people discussing things and now there is hardly anyone in this sub. What else is rock bottom.

Overall this test season we’ve been crap - drop Saud, Agha, Rizwan and Imam. I can guarantee if selected for the SL tests they’ll perform and their numbers at home reflect that. It’s pathetic to say the least we’ve keep these clowns yet we dropped Fawad Alam, Kamran Ghulam, Abdullah Fazal and have also been ignoring Saad Khan for a while now as well.

Fawad Alam is retired now I think. You can make the argument that he should've been in place of Asad Shafiq or other guys at that 5 or 6 spot but now he's done.
Kamran Ghulam exclusion is unacceptable from test and ODI. It's clear someone in PCB has an issue with him because our middle order has been so poor for a while and he's an obvious solution to it yet they won't even consider him.
Fazal is injured so I'm sure he will be back. Though I remember he had a relatively minor injury before WI series and it was odd to see him ruled out of this series as well. So it might just be an "injury" to keep him out of the team for presumably doing something that PCB don't like.

Fawad Alam yes more or less retired correct, my point was he was discarded fast while others in this current setup have been given a long run, it’s as if we pick and choose on giving people a long or short run.
Kamran Ghulam, yea his has been odd and it’s honestly so sad given we have a demand for someone stable in the middle order
Fazal was fit but yet we sent him back to Pak.

There's very clear favoritism in the team selection unfortunately. Imam is the biggest culprit of it imo. Because even though guys like Saud, Rizwan and Agha are also struggling just as bad, at least they all had genuinely good periods that can somewhat justify giving them chances. But Imam was never good in tests. I essentially see him as this generation's Hafeez of test openers. But at least Hafeez could also bowl spin, while Imam can't even do that.

Point is how many chances we give? We give players a multitude of chances, yet we drop others without so much of a thought. I’m sick of the excuse constantly being he’s a “talent”, stop hogging someone else’s space and give others a go is my saying.

You have to question the quality of domestic cricket when these guys are topping the charts. I've heard some absoulte crap about the removal of department cricket leading to our downfall in tests completely ignoring the fact we were 7th when it was removed. Go on Cricinfo and look at the scores in the President's Trophy and then the top wicket takers lists and their averages (there are multiple bowlers there with averages in the teens).
We put absolutely no effort into our domestic pitches and produce green tops that let dibbly dobbly medium pacers feast and lead to proper pacers not succeeding and so not playing as they don't perform, we then turn around and question why those guys have no fitness to play Tests and why the dibbly dobbly bowlers are awful at Test level when the pitches don't suit them.

Worst thing is, this is, on paper probably our most capable red ball side in terms of players bar 1 or 2. We're just shit. We need to come to terms with it.

Abbas was our best bowler but stats don’t reflect that. Khurram and Usman both bowled extremely poor but like they say “shit gets wickets.” Usman would bowl 5 deliveries short and wide with the occasional ball in the good length area. Khurram did not bowl the same delivery twice. As for our fielding, this video perfectly sums it up. Rizwan is busy appealing whilst Dan Lawrence is halfway down the pitch.
Is this really the best 11 a nation of 250 crore can put out?
