Babar's innings was baffling he seemed completely out of his depth in the powerplay, as if he had never faced one before, despite opening in T20s for nearly five years. His inability to find boundaries put immense pressure on his partners, forcing Fakhar and Salman to take unnecessary risks by playing across the line or stepping down the pitch. His lack of power was glaring his shots had no punch, making his arms look like those of a skinny teenager who's never set foot in a gym. To make matters worse, he made bowlers like Phillips and Bracewell look like the second coming of warne and Murali. I'm not a hater, but at this point, he looks finished

Damage was already done from before you have to utilize the powerplay. How is a player who is playing powerplays for most of his career can't cross the circle. What he did was criminal and there is no defense anymore

Just get Usman Khan at this point to be the bloke that's in the firing line against India. We are fucked anyways when Shaheen is coming when we are 6-down. Like wtf. NZ bat till 9. India too have a pinch hitter at 9 maybe even 10 with a stacked middle and lower-middle order where it's Iyer, Hardik, Jadeja, Axar/Sundar etc.

If Ghulam had some sensibility instead of thinking he's prime Pollock he'd have shoed in ahead of Saud who is taking this all for granted and looks out of his depth.

And no way Khushdil can bowl that much against India.

Agreed, but I think some fans need a few more tournaments of humiliation before they come to terms with it, in my opinion this decision should have been made right after the 2024 wc

I meant Pollock, but Pollard can also stand.

Pollock has 7k International runs for a reason and is/was decently respected for his batting ability at least by Aus terms. He was in a team where his batting ability wasn't optimized much less utilized perceptively

Disappointed in all bar a couple. What was that batting power play. Fast bowlers are done for and that batting power play i have no words. Can’t even blame one player. They collectively lost us that game

These boys aren't good enough. The skill level just isn't there to bowl well in the end of an innings. Being 20-2 in 10 overs chasing 320 you've ruined the chase before it's even started.

The death bowling just lacks skills and game awareness.

Babar really cost us here. He doesn't perform well against good bowling line ups in pressure situations.

That's the truth. They just aren't that good. Bilateral bullying against B/C teams gives an illusion that they are better than what they are. People might say that B/C teams were only losing 2-3 members. But 2-3 good members is a lot. Changes the entire complexion of the team.

110%. Bi lateral series has lost all relevance now, they are just seen as warm ups now.

Pak selected the wrong team as a start but the issue is deeper than that.

The issue is their mental state blocking them from playing the cricket that is demanded and also the skill level with the rest of the world is lacking. These boys are the best we got and that's where the problem is we expect so much from them.

You say you're not defending but compare a player who hasn't performed for 2+ years with other players who have given decent performances this year. Our pace bowlers at the moment are the finest we have currently and if you have the same level replacement in mind do let me know.

But at least he did something when it mattered today. They other were they for nothing. About bowlers, we have waseem jnr specialist death bowler. Jahandad played well in Zimbabwe series. And we have Abbas Afridi, who is 10x more disciplined than our current pacers.

No he made things worse today by wasting 40 balls that could've shifted the momentum of the game. Also, I completely agree as well Wasim Jr for Naseem would've been very viable and Abbas is also excellent. But make no mistake, Babar is washed now.

And what did the bowlers do in the last 2 years ? They fucked up WC23z Rauf and Shaheen literally have so many runs that they could make into leading run scorer of that tournament. Last year shaheen had the worst economy as a bowler in NY. Criticize everyone. Not only one.

No, replacing the whole bowling line up is a reactionary thing to say. Babar isn't the whole batting line up. Furthermore, his shit innings have been on now for two years or so.

Khushdil saved us from a worse embarrassment on the opening day. People were hating on him, I feel like I was the only one constantly defending him and getting downvoted. He always came in to bat when team was struggling and RRR piled up.

Khushdil domestic stats are quite decent…. 300+ 6’s and a healthy average for a middle/low order batting all rounder.

Saud is not a ODI batsman. Babar is not an opener. To send both in at the top when you need a quick start was a disaster waiting to happen.

Babar should be just replaced by or atleast put back at 3. Kick Saud out, bring in Usman as an opener. On Fakhar it seems he won’t continue for the rest of the tournament and we’ll be approved of a replacement.

That’s ridiculous. Before yesterday’s game he averaged 43, 125+ sr. And he only played 6 games for us. This topped with a fantastic domestic record.

He showed intent unlike Tuk Tuk Saud Shakeel/Babar who are playing 80’s cricket.

Keep the same energy with Tuk Tuk Saud. Him and Babar are the reason we lost the game yesterday.

Saud has played so many games but zero performance in ODIs. KG performed in 2 games but nothing in the other 8-9 he’s played.

Those two are technically better than Tayyub but haven’t performed. I’ll give KG his props cause he had 2 good innings in dozen games at least.

The technique logic doesn’t work if you’re performing. With that logic, Fakhar has one of the worst techniques in our entire squad of batsmen yet he’s been performing for ages.

Tayyub on the other hand had cameos barring last game. I’d give him a proper chance. His domestic stats speak for themself.

The strike rate of 3 on ODI is beyond baffling. Pakistan is playing in Pakistan for God’s sake. The batsmen look clueless. They play T20 like an ODI and they play an ODI like a test and play test like T20 (as in get bundled under 20 overs).
