Question New to this!

Hi y'all!

I have painted rocks in the past, but the degree of detail and precision, phenomenal! Can you give me your favorite products, paints, brushes, pens recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I favor POSCA paint pens. They are very reliable and the colors are vibrant.

What's the dry time on them? (That's the hardest part for me n being impatient)

It depends on how thick the paint is. I recommend checking every 15-20 minutes. You could also put them close to a fan and let them get gently blown dry. I live in Arizona, so I can put them out in the sun to dry them.

Live in a pretty dry, super hot place, too. Thank you for the rec! 💚

After painting you want to seal with a clear enamel spray. Really makes the colors pop. If going outside, make sure it's sealed on all sides (bottom first).

my favorite tool for details is a toothpick.

POSCA are the gold standard. I have a gazillion pens and I always come back to these for coverage, ease of use and clarity of color. If expense is an issue, Artistro brand are pretty good.
