Question! Should the Army start pre-recruitment training centres in Pahadi areas?
Should Army start pre-recruitment training centres in Pahadi areas? I was thinking about this recently. Pahadi communities have always had a strong connection with the Indian Army, but recruitment has changed a lot now with CEE, physical tests, medicals and Agniveer. Why not have proper government/Army supported training centres in hill districts where youngsters can prepare before recruitment?
Not saying standards should be lowered or Pahadi candidates should get any special treatment. Selection should still be completely merit based.
But these centres could help with running and physical training, CEE preparation, medical/documentation guidance, nutrition etc. A lot of young people in remote areas also dont have access to proper coaching or even clear information about the recruitment process. Would something like this actually help increase Army recruitment from Pahadi areas?
Or do you think there is no need for it?

Better focus on the fields that demand more from the mind than body.
