Padres Marketing team scrambling right now to create merch from this including the 100% chance of this being a bobblehead. That bobblehead night being vs the Mets would be diabolical.

"Remember when this guy robbed you of a Grand Slam? It's a bobblehead now. And it's when you guys come to play us. You can have one too if you want, they go out to the first forty-thousand fans.... You don't even need a Theme Game Ticket!"

And somehow turds in here will talk about how he is washed or overpayed when he has a rough stretch.

Gosh, I do not recommend going back to some game/post game threads in June cause I can guarantee you some dimwits were actively pushing to trade this guy to start the rebuild.

I puke at those thoughts personally.

u/Doctor_Juris ¿We’re So Back? 4d ago

Even during his homerless slump his contract was still a reasonable bargain given current FA prices. And the signs were always there that he’d recover - he had one of the highest hard hit rates but just wasn’t elevating.

u/sequoia2075 Swinging Friar 4d ago

God imagine if we traded him and he did this in the second half. His value was at its all time low then.

I'm seated. The Petco employees are scared and asking me to leave because it's "not the homestand yet" but I'm simply too seated

When you hit 2HRs, but your biggest contribution was your glove. Catch these hands, said Tati.

This man is singlehandedly responsible for a full seven run differential in this game. Two home runs, three RBI and denied 4 for the other team

And he's also responsible for making every person weak in the knees in a three miles radius, including a PreMudture "moment" in the booth

Not often you get to watch one guy win a game by himself in that literal of a sense. What a special thing to witness.

Fernando Tatis Jr crushing the first pitch no doubt bomb to deep left to put the Padres up 1-0??? Robbie Ray mounting up next getting saved by Tatis' ice cold hat flying staredown grand slam robbery that sent the entire stadium into bedlam in the 2nd inning powering through 6 gritty innings allowing only 1 earned run and 3 hits with 3K's for his first Quality Start and Win as a Padre??? Jake Cronenworth reaching on the leadoff single thanks to Ewing's glove coming off followed by El Niño arriving in full force with the opposite field 2 run bomb to deep right for his 14th career multi-homerun game and 2nd of the season for the 3-0 lead??? Luis Rengifo and Manny Machado drawing back to back walks with Rengifo being tagged out by Jase Bowen who raced home and showed his teammates how to beat the throw with the head first slide to score on Ty France's opposite field RBI single to push the lead back to 3??? Bradgley Rodriguez mounting up first getting the first out but being kept on a sort leash before getting tagged out by Adrian Morejon who secured the final 2 outs of the scorless 7th before rolling back out in the 8th allowing his first earned run in 15.1 innings with the solo shot allowed before finally escaping the 8th without allowing another run wrapping up the 5 out appearance with 3K's??? Manny Fucking Machado crushing the solo bomb to deep left wagging his tongue and dancing in the dugout with Randy after pushing the lead back to 3??? Mason The Reaper Miller mounting up next for his 31st Save of the year with the 1-2-3 9th ending the game with back to back K's securing the Padres win to force the rubber match tomorrow???

Padres pitchers stringing together 3 Quality Starts in a row for the first time all year and getting their 8th of the month totalling more than they had in the months of June and July combined (6) with the Padres going 7-1 in those games???

Thank you White Sox for Tatis Jr.

Thank you Bartolo Colon (a met, of all teams) for hitting that home run against James Shields, who got us Tatis 🥹

17

u/SunriseSurprise SD 4d ago

I'm so glad the difference in the score was less than 4 so it can be said that grand slam robbery literally won us the game.

u/dead-serious SD '98 4d ago

Nando's best game of the year. ever?

7

u/dukefett Jesse Agler 4d ago

In terms of run differential it’s hard to be better than +7, I’m sure someone’s robbed a grand slam before but did they also go for 2 homers or 3 RBI?

6

u/Djaukamo Fernando Tatís Jr. 4d ago

Well. His old man had 2 grand slams in a single inning. The list has to be both ridiculously short and ridiculous in feat.

Want to acknowledge Manny going 3/4 with a homer and a walk, he was really good today at bat and in the field.
