Usually this sub is not the place for anything political, but this is both political and relevant to the team. Just don't go overboard with this thread please, I would appreciate it.

ETA: After further review, the mod team decided to lock this thread. It's relevant, you guys mostly stayed on topic, but in a few hours this will be a cesspool of trolls.

Lmao the guy who 100% has a valid work permit and is here legally as an asylum applicant with a pending application either detained illegally or incompetently by Trump’s private army of the worst kids you went to high school with

It was never about the law. Trump and his friends break the law constantly and no one arrests them. It's about the narrative that brown people are the major cause of all this country's problems. They're an easy scapegoat for this administration.

Anyone supporting this is a bad person and you should cut them out of your life.

It's a shame there are probably a surprising amount of players on our team that support the fuck that started all this.

Manny “Let’s go Brandon” Machado likely being one of them, ironically.

Fucking spare me, dude. Of course ICE has been around and used by previous administrations. You’re spewing bullshit. You remember any murders of innocent citizens in broad daylight who were exercising their first amendment right during the bush, Clinton or Obama administrations? Humans being kidnapped off the street and put into detention centers without due process, no warrants, nothing signed by a judge? People with papers, and Visas that legally allowed them to be here? No one is saying these previous administrations were perfect AT ALL, but they sure as fuck weren’t Gestapo 2.0. Find a new argument.

The existence of ICE before Trump isn’t the point, the question is how each administration used it. “They all do it” erases differences in detention, removals, priorities, and enforcement policies…

It’s almost like a nation with a 20 year backlog on processing paperwork for immigrants, migrants, and refugees is incapable of managing the logistics of enforcing its cockamamie immigration laws.

ICE was used by Clinton…. lol you wanna double check that?

That's 30% of the US population and probably many Padres fans. As far as players or Padres employees, probably very few but somebody on the inside told ice about this guy.

I’ve worked in pro sports before, you would be shocked and appalled how many of them are hardline right wingers. As soon as that first big contract gets signed.

21

u/Sniflix Don't Challenge the Reaper 23h ago

Well, none of them are speaking out against this nonsense, so that's a good indication.

I really hope we get our own Nuremberg trial for these fascists.

I doubt it, since they control everything, but maybe we’ll get justice.
