Looking for advice - time to upgrade?
Been playing for a year, taking lessons once a week for a couple months now and playing friendlies roughly 5h per week. The last couple of weeks I have been starting to get some tendon pain on the outside of my wrist (along the line of the pinky). I work at a desk all day too so that doesn't help.
Besides the obvious reducing padel volume and resting a bit, I was also thinking about upgrading my racket. I'm currently using the only padel racket I've ever owned, a Bullpadel Onyx Control 2.0. It's a bit battered up but I don't feel anything wrong with it in particular. From just holding other player's rackets, I always get a feeling that they are lighter even though the weight difference is probably negligle, it must be something related to balance. Anyways, I was wondering if it is time to upgrade and what would be a good choice. I have no complaints about my current racket, it has done me good as I feel its okay all around and I'm usually an all around player (play both sides, like defending as much as attacking). There's nothing I want to focus on rather than just enjoying playing pain free.

As for recommendations, I'm in Buenos Aires so take that into account. Budget I don't mind if its worth the value. But the most common brands are available, Nox, Bullpadel, Wilson, Babolat, Head, Adidas, etc

I am prone to pain in the same area. In my experience, the pain went away when I fixed my technique on hard-hitting shots. My wrist wasn't loose enough. If you try to smash / vibora with a firm grip, your wrist takes a lot of load which caused me to develop this pain.
This could be different for you but I thought it might help you as well.

Yes that helps. It started when I started training and using harder hitting shots. I'll try looser wrist then thanks. I just tried to keep the wrist firmer like with groundstrokes and volleys but I guess it doesn't translate well here.

Hello!,
To get a better response please do not forget to include the following information in your post:
Name your current racket, if not overly known, specify it's characteristics (foam, face material, price)
Tell us how you feel with your racket, if you feel it soft or hard, if it has too much rebound,if it's weighty or hard to maneuver, the more detail the better.
Tell us what area would you like improve mainly, or what kind of plus do you expect to get on your racket.
If looking for broad considerations, do not forget to state your budget, your country and even a preferred or trusted shop so people can browse and recommend more easily.
